I've been very satisfied with iPhone's offerings for the last couple of years so if it were me with that budget I'd get a 3GS. You can pick one up brand new for around R5500.

Most places don't seem to list very many phone and then when they do, it seems to be mostly contract options with very limited options.

Concept phone of Nokia's. Its suppose to be made from Nano tech materials which allows it to be bent, soak up sunlight to recharge stuff like that. This vid describes it better than I could.

Looks like a very nice phone. One drawback seems to be the battery life.
