Hi all

I'm looking for a new isp. I need something with low latency as I trade forex and binary options for a living, the low latency is also necessary for online gaming as I game all the the time if Im not working. I have been to mweb, was never really satisfied. Im currently with openweb, I was happy with my first month, right now Im getting insane pings over 300ms on local servers and the custormer service isnt the greatest. gaming and working are impossible right now.

So guys what would you recommend I go for. Im limited to a 4mbps line where I am. I also watch all of my sports online so I have no idea how much data I use. I dont do much downloading though. i stream , game and use price feeds for market data, dont think I use over 150gb a month of data.

please advise me

Wow. I haven't had a days gripe. I get full line speed when I need it. Currently on leave and sitting at home watching YouTube is a breeze. I have a 200gb package.

im currently using them, and im not happy. paying R689 a month for this and the service aint worth it

+1. Last year I had an account with them. It was unusable before 5pm, browsing was frustrating and online gaming impossible.

Running WebAfrica capped account (standard) and it is working well. I think if you are in CPT you have slightly better pings but generally no issue. Gaming / streaming / netflix all work like a dream at 1080p and 4mbps.

Used webafrica business capped before and it was excellent! Currently on 4mb uncapped from FNB Connect and so far it's OK. Not as good as WA, but you can't beat free. Might get a small WA account just for those important matches though..

My dad wants to get that Telkom deal of 20gig a month @ R400 something.......omw.

20gig wont last a month and I cant change his mind #%$@^%#

I'll have to buy prepaid data from Afrihost to suffice my console game updates....sigh.

Was with Vox till about a month ago when my line started giving issues, they just didn't seem interested in helping me sort out Telkom.
Back on Afrihost at the moment...Still waiting on Telkom though....

Vox Fatpipe - no shaping or throttling and your unused data gets carried over

But i have to add that i'm biased cause I work for them - contact me if you want more details

150Gb = R485
200Gb = R639

Mmmm can you maybe tell me why Vox was so lackuster when it came to helping out with telkom? I love Vox and their product is epic (I've never had better internet). I reckon an ISP should lean on telkom if a clients adsl goes down due to a telkom fault.

And normally they do, especially if the line is signed over to Vox, if the line is still with telkom, we come up against the same brick wall that everyone does. Unfortunately with Telkom it can often be like drawing blood from a stone
