White House rejects Death Star bid

Thread Killer Mk VIII
Forgot to post this a few days ago.

Apparently any petition that reaches 30000 signatures has to be looked at in congress. The petition wanted the United States of America to build a Death Star. It was rejected on grounds of, "administration does not support blowing up planets."

The best part:

He said the estimated cost of $850 quadrillion would not help deficit reduction plans and asked: "Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?"

I still think the general idea is sound, the way our population is booming we need to take a long hard look and colonising space and the first step is to upgrade the ISS from glorified satalite to full on Space Dock, get the Space Elevator up and running and start building ships large enough to carry mankind to the stars.

But NOOOOOO we would rather for out trillions trying to stop people from Dying on a planet that cant support our numbers.
