Who are the Gamers in your life?

Just out of interest, who of you have family members or SO's that game? Are the majority of your "face-to-face" friends gamers or do you find that you can only really discuss gaming with your fellow online gamers and Mygaming forumites? Or do you stand alone, on the island of video gaming?

For me, in my family my Dad games a bit but only racing games, my sister occassionally plays the Sims and my wife is more of a casual gamer (on her iphone). Quite a few of my friends are gamers to varying degrees, probably a result of the LAN days of our youth.

I've got three good friends all the way back from primary school and with our vastly different personalities and lifestyles, it's been PC gaming that has been the common factor that has kept us in contact all these years.

So what about you?

It's mostly just me. My sister will occasionally play something for days and then stop again for months, but that's about it.

In my household, only me. At work, only 3 of my staff don't game. We're 10 people in total. Considering the fact that I spend more of my waking time at work, I guess I'm surrounded my gamers more often than not.

90% of the people in my life are gamers. And then my brother and I play almost every night, we play various games together.

Most my friends are gamers. Thankfully, my last relationship only lasted a month and a half. She wanted me to burn 75% of my games. So if I ever find someone again, she'll have to also be a gamer :)

That's totally ridiculous. My girlfriend has very little interest in games, but she has her own hobbies and I have mine. There is no reason to interfere with each other.

Despite my brother and I playing duke3d deathmatch for hours at a time during my early years, I'm the only gamer in my family. the SO likes to watch me (inb4 "thats what she said" thread link) and 100% of my friends are gamers. :)

She has quite a few screws loose... And I think she might be stalking me... But alas, I can enjoy my games again without having to put up with the BS now :)

I have two brothers that game, one on this very forum, and all my friends game, we tend to lan as much as we can when ever we are all on holiday. I tend do find that i am better friends with people who game, since that really is my only interest in life and i tend not to be able to really speak about anything else.

I have an even split of gamer and non gamer friends. In the family, my new brother-in-law is a big gamer as well, and my sister dabbles in them from time to time.

I like to think iv got a good balance of gaming friends and non gaming friends... The Mrs is not a fan however... When she gets home the games go off lol... "whistling:

i have like 4 friends that play games but in the family it's just my one cousin.. and all he plays is starcraft (Which i'm not really into) When my GF comes to visit for the weekend all my gaming time drops to nearly zero

At work, what FarligOpptreden said. At home, my younger brother and pretty much all my male cousins game (mainly fifa, tekken, nfs, etc). My younger sister couldn't be fussed. A good ratio of my friends are gamers, ranging from light to hardcore. Then my girlfriend games lightly and there's an odd dichotomy between us where I'll be a fan of a franchise and she'll be into the competitor or she'll like a franchise that's in the same genre that I couldn't be fussed with (her Call of Duty to my battlefield, her nba to my fifa, etc)...

My wife is into gaming as well. She loves FPS games (only single player though, still have to get her to play multi player) and platformers (Trine, Abe). She is the best Super Mario player I have ever seen and she always kicks my ass in Worms! :D
We both have gaming PC's, no consoles.

My brother also plays and we also got my dad into gaming, but my dad only plays the odd RTS game and he finished several of the Commandos games.

I have a lot of gaming and non gaming friends, probably about 50/50. When BF3 came out we were 4 or 5 friends that played together all the time, was amazing.

That reminds me, one of my fondest gaming memories is playing and finishing Super Mario Brothers Wii with my wife. She wasn't at all bad at the game and clinched a few tight victories for us against the bosses.
