Who buys PC Games from kalahari.com

I have used Kalahari a few times for games, but I prefer Take 2 (Takealot) as it seems to me they are more clued up with the release dates and general information thereof. When a game is anounced, Take 2 will have a web page for it month's in advance. According to my experience this is unfortunately not the case with Kalahari.

Kalahari's "sell your stuff" marketplace is however great.

I'm considering splashing out R3.5k on digital camera equipment with Kalahari, but it would be awesome if the rep was active on the site. I got a few queries. :/

With uncapped internet I have no need of local retailers. My preference is steam and gamersgate. Only game I will be using a non digital retailer is star wars the old republic and that's only because of EA's bs staggered release, getting my copy via amazon.

I've used Kalahari for a few older titles that fall under the bargain bin.
I also prefer Take2, just because their office are 2 minute walk from my work so no need to wait and no delivery charges.
I also shop on Kalahari.net and compare prices.

Depending on the price and availability I often buy from Kalahari. Either if it is something obscure that isn't available in stores e.g. Darwinia/UplinkHacker or new release that is better priced than stores.

I bought the Tales of Monkey Island games and a few other obscure titles from them not too long ago. But I generally just go with Take2 more often than not if I can't get it from BT Games

I wanted to preorder Dead Island from you guys today, but the 5 day delivery thing as well as the fact that I have absolutely no clue what's going on scared me off. It says the game is R272, then just under that there's another option for a 'new' copy of Dead Island for R280. WTF? No idea what that's about and why would a preorder have a 'new' copy?

Preordered with Take2, just haven't paid yet. Would have loved to take Kalahari's offering due to the much lower price, but I'm not going to wait for it to be delivered 5 days after all my friends have it. By the time I get it, they'll all already be tired of it.

I think you're confusing a seller on Kalahari's marketplace with Kalahari.

Kalahari would ship either the day before or on the day of release and it would arrive the following day.

I've noticed though that Kalahari doesn't list release dates, expected or otherwise.

Their layout is confusing in that sense. I agree.

I used too, but then the service took a massive drop. Got anything from damaged games, to items packed so badly that covers broke etc. for which I am still awaiting replacements despite being told it was on it's way months back.

And yes, their layout is not great, especially with how they've incorporated the market place.

I havent bought games from Kalahari but I do use ebucks to buys CDs occassionally. Also their recent promotion one of the group-buying websites (pay R50 for a R200 voucher) was pretty dam awesome :)

I also used to... A lot. Most of my DVD / Games collection is from there (I earn a lot of eBucks). However, since discovering Steam, I mostly just buy DVDs from Kalahari now and the odd game here and there.

One thing that would be nice though, is if it was possible to combine an eBucks payment with a credit card payment. Since eBucks cannot be topped up anymore, sometimes when making a purchase, I'm just a couple of eBucks short and then I either have to wait or do the whole purchase via credit card.

I mainly purchase from Take 2 (takealot, name still sounds weird :P Makes me think of smarties, WHATALOTIGOT!) and STEAM. But I have ordered various items from Kalahari and had no issues.

Ah man, that what I was looking to do for my pre-order!

Kalahari.com, could you verify whether that price is correct, and if it will be delivered in time for release or only after? I've yet to pay for my order at Take2, and if yours doesn't take longer to get to me, I'd prefer to take it for the cheaper price, as I'm going to be a little short on money this month. :P I can't really make head or tails of what's going on on the site (no offense), so I don't know whether that price is right. If I can expect it on release day, I'll place an order as soon as possible. :P

Edit: Also, it doesn't seem as if yours includes the preorder DLC?
