If you think of the benefit of having uncapped internet, the price compared to DSTV, for me its a no brainer to go with uncapped internet and stream media rather than DSTV. The only downside is the sport, but i have found a few options with regards to that as well...

Would you be so kind and share them please :D

Is this true ? I thought it was only going to be available around 2016ish ?

I am trying to find out now, but I heard it on the Radio that it is Legally in South Africa now. Trying to do more research now, but yeah, I believe its true

Currently, a DNS service is still required to use Netflix here. The majority uses Unotelly as it's easily one of the best.

$7.99 for Netflix and $4.95 for Unotelly.

Thanks Duck, maybe I wasn't paying attention, and Netflix might only be coming to SA a bit later this year

Well all Netflix said was that they are aiming for global reach by the end of 2016. We'll see when exactly SA gets it.

For now, I'd highly recommend Unotelly. With the mobile app, you're able to change your region on the fly and use the various Netflix regions to watch different content.

Okay great thanks! i will keep an eye and ear out, but I def heard something about Netflix specifically for SA in this year

But you have netflix the legal way now right? No need to jippo the ip and things like that right? Have never tried netflix before. Just know you needed a VPN or something like that to get it to work in SA
What duckknuckle said. I use unotelly.com set my dns settings and then stream

Yip uncapped shaped 4mb up/ 1mb down.though they did tell me I'm like 1 km from high site. Just take note with Netflix, you need to build your interests before it starts showing most of its context. When I first got it I thought it was cap till it started building my interest list, now I'm getting super awsum content. Also they released the interview this weekend. What a lol that movie is.

I watched the interview the other day, it was quite funny.

Thanks, Flex!

It's still better than outright piracy via torrents/nzb's/etc.

What I was trying to raise in those articles was that:

(a) "Piracy" is a very ill-defined term;

(b) In Australia it's perfectly legal to circumvent geoblocks, but in SA it isn't. WTF?!; and

(c) Some folks don't fully realise that other than its original content, and maybe some globally licensed content, Netflix doesn't offer the latest-and-greatest. That is still the purview of the pay TV operator.

Used to be able to stream youtube at 720 comfortably but lately i've had to watch on 480.
If am going to pay for Netflix then I want my provider to be able to handle it, so I am going wait before signing up, if it come to SA in the mean time, then even better.

I don't really want Netflix to come here. It's going to be sub-standard and they will start blocking VPN's and DNS services. I like it the way it is now.

I use Netflix. Remember, Netflix are aiming to end their regional content blocking, rather opting for a global content list. RSA is just part of a global rollout.

The problem comes in where the content is not licensed by them, so they cant make the decision to stop region blocking...

Legend of Zelda Live-Action Series Coming to Netflix

A series in reportedly in the works that involves the tried and true "Link rescuing Princess Zelda in Hyrule."

Following on the success of original programming like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, a recent report suggests that Netflix may be expanding even further: shows based on video games.

A story posted in the Wall Street Journal today states that, "[Netflix] is in the early stages of developing a live-action series based on 'Zelda,' about an ordinary boy named Link who must rescue a princess named Zelda and save a fantasy world called Hyrule."

The article reports that, according to an unnamed source, Netflix is "working closely with Nintendo." However, there is currently no writer attached to the project.

The show could potentially tie-in to The Legend of Zelda Wii U game slated for sometime this year, or it could be a wholly original project. We've reached out to Netflix and Nintendo for comment and will update this story with more details as they're made available

Largely inconsequential. It's the copyright not the geolock that is the problem from a legal perspective as far as I can tell.

It's to be understood in the context of eg steam games costing more in Australia rather than bypassing laws like copyright as is the case with Netflix.

And yeah the whole thing is pretty stupid. Money for content...its not that difficult.
