Who's getting the PS Vita?

I've always wanted a PSP, but then I got a xbox and it would be pointless to get games for both consoles. Now there's a Vita and I don't know if I can resist. Are you thinking of getting the Vita? Aren't you getting the PS Vita? Tell your standing and give a reason
 
Nope, can't be bothered, just another gadget that will be replaced within a year or two with a "faster bla bla bla".
I feel its way over priced and seeing as almost everything available is an optional extra of which 2 are needed (Extra battery pack + Memory card) I think its insane. Think about it like this. For the same money you can get yourself a High end Graphics card for you're gaming pc or Some extra bits + games for you're consoles.

Life is a constant rush, we barely get time to game, what makes them think we'll game on the move. I can only think of two situations where it would be a plus to own a Vita, and that's on long car journeys and even then you'd have to be a passenger (I'm always the driver :( ) and possibly when flying to the states/Europe.

Its def not a gadget for adults, we have Ipads and Galaxy tabs to keep us happy.
 
i am very keen, but not at the present pricepoint. will wait for it to become a little more reasonable. or maybe get it with a cellphone contract. thats how i funded my PSP purchase :-)
 
I was thinking about it, but I rarely use my PSP and I think this is going to be the same, gonna play on it a couple of times then leave it in the cupboard. I might get once the price start dropping a year or so later.....
 
I'm keen. Lots of games that I already want to play on it, but I highly doubt I'll be picking it up on release. R2500+ for a handheld is a bit rough imho. Even though the games will obviously be better than any of the crap I'm currently playing on iOS.

I've never been into handhelds for serious gaming since you get a better experience playing on a console, bigger screen, better controls etc.
I play fun games on my Windows phone to while away time on the train. Mobile achievements FTW! :)
 
Handheld Gaming Devices have never really impressed me, IMO it feels like you not getting the most out of the game because the graphics aren't always as great as they would be on a console
 
The battery life as well size plus and that analogs definitely questions its portability, would be an awesome toilet gadget though.
 
Price is quite steep at the moment. I am sure that if you wait a while, there will be a change in the pricing. Awesome little device (from what I have read) though. Would love to give it a whack and see what I can do with it.
 
This was a very bad move from Sony. The sales figures have been horrid, they will quickly start dropping the prices like Nintendo had to do with the 3DS, all because of not enough content at launch.
 
I won't be getting it, would love to get one but like Joker said I would rather get a new item for my pc instead. I got the 1st psp and loved it, still regret selling it, but now that I am in love with my pc it deserves what is in my wallet. :love:
 
I really wanted to get one, but the price range is a bit high... But i will see if i can get one. Really want one, should be fun and the game line up isnt that bad either.
 
Biggest problem I have with this device is that I will never use it. I don't exactly see myself using it while driving to and from work (it could be a health hazard), nor do I think I would use it at home when there's a PC and PS3 to cater my gaming needs.

I just can't justify it and as such will likely never get one tbh.

i agree with you on this point. a portable gaming device is awesome if you use a train/bus to work, where you can spend each morning and evening playing games while going to and from work. but the vast majority of us drive ourselves to work, so the only other opportunity to use the Vita would be at home. but if i am at home, i would rather play games on XBOX or PS3.
 
I think the system makes the most sense if you're always on the go and don't have access to your consoles and PCs. I don't own any of the HD consoles and that makes it a very attractive device for me. Unfortunately, it looks like the sales aren't doing well. Sure looks like DS vs PSP all over again, but I hope Vita finds its footing.
 
I don't really see the point. I chose the NDS because it was different, but it's not something I use often. As phones get more powerful I won't even see the need for the NDS on the rare occasions when I want a handheld gaming device.
 
After a price drop...maybe. I would love one but at that price is insane. And having a xbox and ps3 i'll have no free time to even use it. maybe if i leave my car at home and take a bus to-and-from work?
