Who's really going to watch the soccer world cup ?

Could not get tickets :( except for the nigerian match but there is no way that I am going to a staduim filled with nigirian supporters.

Booked ticket for Portugal VS Ivory Coast...should be a ripper!! Am I the only one psyched for the event??

Nope I am looking forward to it. Just wished I had gotten better games than the 7 I applied for. But still its the biggest single sporting event in the world. I can't wait.

I need to double check what games I have tickets for. Got the tickets within the first few minutes of them going on sale, a couple years ago. But I can't wait!

Soccer? Is that the game with 2 people and the green ball ... oh wait ... no ... that's tennis ...

Don't mind me. :p

Whyever not? You could make some contacts ... meet the right people ... get a few scams going :D You could end up rich ;)

I'm not going to watch the soccer world cup at all. In fact, I'm going to try and do my best to avoid it. I just really don't like soccer and I think it's going to end up being one of the biggest failures in South African history, but I've been proven wrong lots of times before, so let's see.

OP didn't ask what your opinions of soccer are or what your going to do instead of watching soccer.

L2read.

Forums are for discussion ... and if people don't want to watch soccer and do something else instead, I believe they're free to mention it. That includes our opinions on soccer.

Otherwise the answers are going to be short and boring eg ... Answer 1 - Yes, Spain & Answer 2 - No. Not much of a thread then.

Right so we can host the rugby and cricket world cups but the fifa world cup will fail... It won't we have a proven track record when it comes to these events and fifa will make sure it doesn't fail if there are any problems.

How so? Everything will be ready on time, which a lot of overseas nations were arguing would not be the case.

In fact, many are so impressed by our preparations that they're saying that Brazil could learn a thing or two from us come their time to host in 2014.

We received a 8 out of 10 readiness rating not too long ago. I think what lynus was pointing to was that fifa enforces very strict requirement for all aspects of the host nation, they look at the pitch quality, the roads leading to the stadium, accommodation etc. The cricket and rugby world cup organizers don't enforce such strict rules.

Indeed not, and people also have to remember that in terms of scale, the CWC and RWB don't come anywhere close to the SWC.
