Whose lines have already been upgraded by Telkom?

Thanks! :)

So i hope ours will be upgraded soon...
We have a business line, so super constant internet speeds for gaming.

Is there a list of when the upgrades will take place?

There is a list, but I wouldn't put much faith in it. It should be done within the next month or so.

Not upgraded yet still on 4 meg but seem to notice my speedtests are getting close to maxing out than they use to be before these upgrades.

Seems over the contention ratio for 4 meg yet the router is only on 4 and use to be always 430 kb/s or lower.

Question...
Why is the latency on that telkom speed test so damn high?

And just to clarify you were saying kila bits per second. right?

Mine has been updated. But bec I don't have cap I have the throttled 20gig cap which downloads at such a slooooooow pace. MY batman download is only on five gigs :(

I have 40mb/s available according to the Telkom site but the line is running at 10mb/s currently.

This is great but only helps if I upgrade my current ISP package from 4mb/s uncapped to 10mb/s or 40mb/s.

Did a speed test :)

anyone know why my speedtest would say 5mb/s up and 0.53mb/s down?

Is it possible to have a 5meg line?

I really want to know because it has been bugging me for a while...

Yes, it means your exchange is probably 10meg capable, but the line condition isn't good enough for 10meg, so it ends up at 5 meg.

well my line has been done and it's syncing at 4mb and i'm downloading at about 3.3mb/s or 3085-540kb/s on steam :D

don't think i'll even do the effort to move my package to 4mb only thing is my Lat has gone from 15ms to 43ms

Thanks. So i guess we should upgrade the line.

My steam peaks at 900kb/s :P

Ihaven't looked at my steam since they recreated my account yesterday (had some issues on unshaped only Downloading at 6Kb/s)

But my Fear 3 was done in an hour 3.2gb so i'll check what it peaked at what speed line do you have Applause? and what package

What do you mean by upgrade? If your line is only syncing at 5Mbps, it probably means that the signal strength is quite low and that the noise is high. It wouldn't be a good idea for you to upgrade unless Telkom can find and repair a fault on the line or replace some cable. I would rather advise you to go back to 4Mb and save the R120 or so per month.

Our line is a business uncapped from cybersmart and its the same price as the normal line, because we have relatives who own cybersmart :P

So i'll get my bro to take a look at a tutorial for better signals...

Then you should rather downgrade back to 2Mbps and save on your monthly bill.

I'm still on a 2mb package and that was my speed so there might be something wrong with his account there was with mine my isp recreated it and then it was awesome
