Why are PC gamers getting the short stick to good titles these days

Just saw a comment about GTA V that made me think there is probibly more truth into that then what most people think

"What if they release to consoles 1st as it promotes people to buy games twice"

Think about it, esp for games like Skyrim and so on that support mods on PC. If PC releases came out 1st less people would own 2 copies of the games. So they 1st release on console and people buy it to be part of the in crowd... then later comes a PC port with added content and mod support so you end up getting it again to make use of said mods.

I am sure that it is important for them to make as much money as possible with this way of doing it cuz lets face it, if they did not make the money they do we will see no more progression in the world of gaming, so really, I would buy both as well if I felt like playing the game that bad. Which brings me to my next point, don't necessarily think that its bought on console to be "part of the in crowd", its just something the really wanted to play, but there are people that don't have a console and only have a pc so its making them rage not being able to play it as soon as others get the chance, and I believe if that is the way u feel about it, buy a console if you're so serious about playing the game.

I know for a fact that I would have bought sc2 for console if it had to come out on the same principle so that when the pc games comes I would have an edge on my opponents due to already having played it for x period of time.

In the end of the day it is a money making scheme, but if it wasn't they would have stopped at tetris and mario brothers...

As someone mentioned earlier one of the biggest problems with PC is trying to account for the almost infinite amount of different configurations a PC can have. As a guy who's written lots of programs before it really can't be explained what a bitch this is to actually do. When you develop for console; you know exactly what you working with. You understand the strengths and weaknesses and can work around them. With a PC the implementations to solve a problem on one person's PC may cause another problem to arise on another's. I actually prefer that they take their time to actually make a proper PC edition instead of a Port; lest issues like Dark SOuls PC version arise..."whistling:

I agree, take the time, do it right and have less patches when its finish. I don't know the first thing about coding I'm kinda like Vince Vaghn in the movie "The Internship", lol I can see myself one day saying "on the line" as opposed to "Online". I have to utmost amount of respect for coders and programmers. The language (computer language that is) and problem solving must be intense, I am much happier just running a business that has a lot less of that and leave the difficult stuff to u guys that make my life fucking awesome when I get home at night and get a chance to play on one of the programmers master pieces. ON PC!! NOT CONSOLE :D

Man it's a bitch trying to optmise shit for PC...but WORTH IT :D. A good example would be Witcher 2 : Enhanced Edition. Took forever to come out, but man oh man did they do that shit right all across the board. Like you said; rather wait and take your time to stew that game to perfection rather release an unfinished game.

This thread got derailed into a shitstorm of PC MASTER RACE very quickly. Or maybe it's the lesser informed that don't know any better. Oh well...

PC is king! Join us! JOOOOOOOOIIIIIIN UUUUUUUSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

PC Has Microsoft and Apple backing it! It will always be here! Always be better than consoles, PC's will only be replaced with built in pc's in our minds lol. JOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIN UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong there will always be a place for consoles, but it would never have a higher priority than PC's imo. It's the little things that make a pc a part of our lives, not necessarily the gaming ;). And lets be honest, this post has gotten out of hand since its first post...

I'm not seeing it. Some members are a bit enthusiastic about their choice of platform, but so far the discussion has remained pretty civil. There's nothing wrong with discussing the benefits of gaming on one system over the other.

Agreed, reading some of the posts here was like trying to decipher a childs debate on why his power ranger doll is better. Very good enthusiasm but I'm just left saying Dafaq kid.

And I'm still allowed to read and judge as I feel is necessary. Hopefully the thread will return to its true intent as that was much more interesting than this
