Why COD MW3 is everything they said it would be.

The Joker

Thread Killer MKII
This is based on roughly an hours worth of playing but..OMG it was so much fun.

The game pace is much faster than any of the previous MW titles, as soon as the game starts you are in the thick of things, running and gunning..and even playing the normal(non HC) I enjoyed it, feels a lot more realistic. Not having to empty a clip out on a single enemy.

I love the fact that every round I finished I unlocked a bucket load of cool stuff :D much more than any of the previous titles. The perks and strike packages have been thought our brilliantly, they aren't as over powered as the Black ops packages and there are plenty of different ones to choose from. In fact we are really spoiled for choice.

Lvling the weapons also adds a new dimension, seeing as I loved the AUG on Blops but not ever really being able to improve any of its functions I got quite bored playing with it. MW 3 has fixed that with the constant lvling and upgrading of you're fav weapons.

The different game modes are also pretty epic, although I only really played dm I spoke to mates who played kill confirmed and they said it was a huge amount of fun and that team work really does come into it.

Im sure as I lvl and play more I will find even more bits to love

BF3 is graphically amazing but MW3's game play is right up my street. If you want fast paced non stop action then MW3 is def worth its R399 price tag. Seeing as you will almost certainly clock 300+ hours of game play.

Fully agree man. Had such a jol playing MP last night!! Luckily all my online mates who had blops seemed to have bought MW3. We hit some TD, and a bunch of good 'ol local team tacts.

Quite overwhelming all the gameplay changes...I need to get to grips with all the lvling up you can do, classes, guns etc. Plus my brain now needs to learn all the new massive maps. MW3 is definitely not leaving my xbox anytime soon.
Maybe there isn't any real HUGE graphics changes, but that only keeps you happy for a short time. Its the gameplay that need to evolve - and they seem to have done a good job there.

Agreed, you see both games BF3 and MW3 is fun, BF3 very much team based game and you can have hours of fun with your buddies online, however if you quickly want to play a bit of games before going out then MW3 is your game, not really team based and maps are over quickly. I like both games but i guess the question to the other gamers is, do you like fast paced action or a bit more tactical team play.

Another + 1 here. Its fast and its brutal, just the way I like it! No massive maps and trying to find someone to shoot, just wait about 5 seconds and the shit hits the fan :p

What I really like is the leveling, you level nice and quickly and unlock all kinds of stuff. It also seems like it is easier to kill guys, almost like hardcore was but not as hectic.

Overall its great, and I really doesn't feel like I am playing MW2, its a completely new feel IMO.

Almost forgot the awesomeness of the prestige shop.
Being able to get double xp when you want and other awesome perks is rocking.

So it's still basically for instant thrill seekers (not my cup of tea anymore)? Is it true the the steam version requires several gigs worth of downloads before you can play?

Who ever said that is talking pure shit. There is a small 60MB patch after the install and that's it.
You'd be surprised at the amount of team work involved in kill confirm. You should still try it mate. You won't be disappointed.

I've been playing MW3 on Xbox 360 and I have really been enjoying it so far.

I've only played about an hour of campaign but it's definitely the action-packed experience we've come to expect from MW games...so if you enjoy constant action/MW1 & 2 then you should definitely enjoy it.

Spec-Ops is fun, especially the new survival mode. I played it a bit splitscreen with my brother and it looks like you could get into it and spend hours playing it but, to me at least, I can't see why someone would rather play that than multiplayer.

Multiplayer is really, really fun. The leveling up of weapons, the weapon proficiencies, the new system of strike packages, the new maps and lots of other stuff all makes the experience really fun. My play time so far is only about 3 hours so I'm definitely not an expert on anything but I feel that the maps in MW1 & 2 were far better. This could obviously change with time. Some of the maps I really do enjoy but then, when I really think about it, I realize that the main reason I like them is because they remind me of MW1 or 2 maps. When I was looking for matches to play in last night the only mode I could really play was TDM (I could ALWAYS find a TDM match, btw). I found one S&D match after waiting forever but nothing came up when I tried looking for Kill Confirmed, CTF, Team Defender or any other mode. This could obviously be because my internet speed is slow (384kbps) and therefore most matches aren't a sufficiently low ping or there just weren't that many matches being played in those modes. Hopefully this will improve with time as TDM can get boring after an extended period of time. I would also just like to add that a 384kbps line was fast enough to have 3 (out of 4) bars most of the time so the game is very playable at that line speed. Sometimes it seemed like there was no way someone could have killed me (i.e. i'm blaming the lag) but that might just be my-sucking-ness getting in the way :)

I won the game through the Exclusives competition and I am very happy with it. I can't comment on whether it's worth however much it costs but I probably wouldn't have bought it in favour of buying Skyrim, but that's just personal preference.

@The Joker. Thanks for the negative rep dude, it's my first. :) Just wanna point something out. I'm not a fanboi, but I do hate CoD. There is a difference you know.

Whats fair is fair mate.

I just wanna add this, seeing as people think I am a cod fanboy which I am not.
There shouldn't be a debate as far as I am concerned. BF3 is a fantastic game with fantastic graphics and good game play all be it a bit slow for my liking. MW3 is a fantastic game, with ok graphics and excellent game play, with fast paced running and gunning. They are 2 different titles and should be seen as such.

I'm gonna wait on this one. After playing for 2+ years is it worth getting an expansion pack for R400? (it might not be called an expansion pack, but it offers as much value). Just too much of the same over and over and really no satisfaction in getting kills. I'll say honestly I'd probably have got it by now if not for BF3 - I don't have time for both and I'm more excited for something completely new that offers something different to what I've been doing for the past 2 years.
