1. Why do you game (as a hobby? pastime? boredom?)

2. How long have you been playing online?

3. Do you get tired of the online community and their constant moaning?

I've been a gamer since I can remember, as my father is an oldschool programmer I grew up with the stuff.

I started playing online in May 2009

3. Do you get tired of the online community and their constant moaning?

Nope, Doesn't really phase me. Ppl moan and swear at me lots while gaming and i tend to just ignore them, I've never gotten into any online tiffs. Apart from that, the constant moaning etc. Most of the online players are between 16 and 20 so it comes with the territory

4. How long will you still game online/offline?

1. For fun, like going to watch a movie, it's something I enjoy.

3. Yes and no. If you moan about legitimate problems then it's your right to do so.

Because it is fun. It is a great escape. I enjoy it. I love stories and hence good games with a great story.

Since BF2142 was released.

Yeah, it get a bit annoying at times. I wish there was a way to disable chat function sometimes, but it is online gaming and there will always be someone out to prove that his or her e-penis is the biggest.

4. How long will you still game online/offline?

Till either my wife smashes my PC or arthritis prevents me from holding either my mouse & keyboard or my console controller or whatever device is used in the future. If it is mind controlled, I hope I don't go senile...

Naw, I tend to ignore the sillyness and childishness - Ignore buttons where created for a reason. Valid complaints I will support if I believe in it.

As long as I find it fun and entertaining

I've been gaming since before I could speak English.

Since '06 on my 56k modem.

Yep, I take time off every 6 months for a few months to a year to get away from it.

As long as it keeps me off the streets and developers don't turn into corporate & commercial sellouts. I'm looking at you COD & Mario!

Hobby, mostly. It's also part of my job.

Since 2007, when Team Fortress 2 came out. Offline, since 1986. Played my first LAN games in 1998, over a parallel cable on my Pentium II's printer port. :P

Yes. And it's really not just the online community. Gamers in general are mostly a bunch of whiny brats.

I live in the moment.

yep, but you get children everywhere even at work.

i see an err in no2,

online: since i had my 56k modem (not sure which year we got them in RSA). played a lot of decent 1 and jedit knight up to the point that i had to sleep in class to catch up again. though that was mostly the US server's fault ;)

offline: lol... well we used to use parallel cables :D, the worst after that was when you forgot your terminator and couldn't lan :mad:

For the enjoyment. My girlfriend's also recently started gaming with me, so it's something we can do together

3 Years, but it's waning a bit the last couple of months. Losing it's appeal.

Until I dont enjoy it anymore...been at it for 20 years so that probably wont happen soon.
