Wii U on special for R1,000

Who's buying the Wii U console tomorrow morning?
*raises hand*
I shall be getting up at 05h00 and going to an unspecified Toy R Us branch.

Anyone gonna buy and resell for profit? I'm still thinking about it...
Samsung S3 mini vs. Wii U? Hmmm
What do you guys think?

How much GB's worth of updates have you downloaded so far?

The out-of-the-box update is the biggest, that's probably around 2GB in size, but I couldn't find the exact size anywhere.

Other than that there are a couple of updates, but nothing crazy. Most of my bandwidth have gone to game and demo downloads.

That's an a-hole move :P Don't buy it if you aren't planning on using it. Rather give it to the next guy in the queue.

I was actually thinking of buying a couple and keeping them. They'd make great bday/xmas gifts for the family/friends.

Too bad I barely have enough money to buy one..... :(

Now THATS an a-hole move.
But only one purchase allowed per person.
Sweet ain't it?

It's limited to one per customer for people like you :P

It's a dog-eat-dog world
and I'm a student :P
I needz teh moneyz

I reckon you'll be expending a lot of energy to try turn a profit on a Wii U.

Granted, they typically retail for over R4K at non-reduced rates, but if large retailers are trying to unload these things for some reason, then maybe you'll find a lot of competition.

You'll need to beat the best special price available elsewhere, and will incur costs in driving to the store and possibly on delivering the console to the buyer. What about your time? Perhaps as a student you don't value it highly ( :P ) but I'd think it will be a lot of time wasted to try turn at best a R1k profit.

At current conditions perhaps, but it looks to me like the Wii-U is picking up momentum and picking it up fast. Did you see that article recently where the Wii-U sales figures went through the roof? From 209 to 9 or something like that?

I'll keep it sealed in the meantime and wait for E3.
If I'm impressed I'll keep it. If not. sold.

This is probably more of a tactic to get people to visit their stores. Doesn't sound like they have a lot of the consoles in stock, so I doubt it's to "promote" the console or its games in any way.

Wii U games are like R600 a pop though.
eina.

That's the price for all console games which is why it's very important for me to be able to buy games second-hand. Something which MS and Sony intend to make very difficult or near-impossible.

Apparently Toy r Us and Reggies are having a special this Saturday for Wii U consoles. R1000 a pop.....

For that price I'll test my luck and see if I can pick one up.

Hope they have it for a R1000 at my Reggies here on Saturday will grab it fast :D (hate being paid on the 31st)
