Wii U SA sales disappointing

Nail on the head.....It probably takes a lot of convincing to get someone to part with R4500 for a device bearing the Wii name.

Yep the most I will part with is R2500 not going to part with more than that since that is how much I think its worth.

I'm lucky enough to have won a Wii U, but yeah prices are way to high.
Every-time the price of a game or accessory gets lowered it simply flies out of the door.
There's also the issue of the lack of prepaid nintendo cards for online.

My purchases so far for the Wii-U
Zombi-U *second hand gumtree R300
Mass Effect 3 *Kalahari special R200
Epic Mickey 2 *Kalahari special R180
Wii Remote plus + nunchuck *Kalahari special R400

No way on earth I'm ever paying R400+ ever again for a new game no matter which platform it is anymore. If you look at how quickly a game depreciates in value, instead of one new release you can get 5-8 (1-2 year old) games instead.

Deus Ex -> Human Revolution + Spiderman Unshattered Dreams -> R100
Might be getting the Sonic Racing game for the Wii U @ R200 at Kalahari too.

Ditto, and that's why it's very important to me that Nintendo has no restrictions on second hand games. Unlike XBone and PS4.

Well it came out at a bad time when we are looking forward to the next gen consoles, i would rather save some cash for the PS4 than buying the Wii U which has got a few exclusive games on its name, ;)

Its been out for a long time so its more to do with the price since these other consoles wern't shared until this year that I noticed so the Wii U had lots of time to sell.

The Wii-U is the first of the next-gen consoles. To each their own, I'm perfectly happy with my Wii-U. If price estimates are anything to go by you will definitely need all the time you can get to save up for it.
