Wii U won't match Wii success - David Jaffe

Even though I agree with Jaffe, that the WiiU won't do as well as the Wii, my reasons for it are vastly different.

Interesting take on it though. I sometimes wonder though, just how badly developers and manufacturers misjudge our prejudices and diversities...

No-one expected the Wii to do as well as it did. I am guilty too, of once thinking WTF Nintendo? when I first heard about the Wii. Personally, I think Jaffe was talking like a fanboy more than an analyst - I hope in a year or two after the Wii U's release, his comments are revisited...

Yeah. I remember a lot of forums being very wrong about the Wii. Knowing Nintendo, this will sell insanely. The first test will be the Japanese, as a lot of their trends wash out on the Americans and then us, especially when it comes to video games. I see this thing selling the same amount as the Wii, if not more.

Jaffe has a point, but my reason why the WiiU won't do as well as the Wii also differs. Since the Wii paved the way for the WiiU, a lot of Wii fans already has a Wii! Maybe Nintendo will surprise us again with sales.
