WIIU much better than the next gen...

I bought a Wii last gen... I just love Nintendo games and I still do. But to be honest I got seriously burned by the fact that the wii was just simply too niche and technically-gimped compared to the PS360.
And yes, decent competitive graphics and decent multiplats do matter no matter how much you compensate for it with awesome first party titles and the odd third party gem.
Will I make the mistake of buying another Nintendo console as my primary console? Nope, not falling for that again. First buying a sony console and then maybe the Wii u if I can.
Handhelds are strictly Nintendo, no doubt about that - but consoles? Nope, Nintendo struggles to mature with its initial fans from 20 odd years ago. I would absolutely love for Nintendo to be bold and less conservative in their games and create fresh, new IP. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Zelda and Mario is cool but they're simply all variations on a very exhausted theme with new mechanics/aesthetic slapped on with every new release.
It's sad to see that the Wii U is doomed to a similar fate as the original Wii, with developers saying that they refuse to port to the Wii U due to hardware limitations. I long for a more diverse gaming experience with a huge and eclectic library at my fingertips.

Nintendo games have never pushed the frontier when it comes to graphics, but boy are they fun. I've upgraded my Wii to a Wii-U. It's an amazing console to have for parties and for MP games. Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 will be killer apps for the Wii-U.

Enjoyed reading your post, I feel very similar about nintendo, and I too almost fell for the Wii U monster and bought one, but Nintendo are making life difficult for themselves I feel. My biggest gripe is the affordability of their games, older titles seldom drop to reasonable prices making it an expensive console to own.

I second that, their first party games are really expensive and pricing is a problem, looking at Super Smash Bros Brawl, it such an old title and still costing R399 now, Zelda Skyward Sword same thing, did bite the bullet and bought it but still R499 for that title was a bit much.

Never had a Wii but bought a Wii U, so only now enjoying the gems that were released on Wii.

I grew up with Nintendo Games and ever since i got a play station Iv missed Mario, and Zelda...

But the Wii U and Wii have both been so far behind the console leaders its been an easy choice to not go for the Wii...

When a mainline mario comes out and is critically hailed yet no one buys it you now there's serious problems facing the console such a shame Nintendo failed on the hardware front.

I was very hyped to get a PS4. I am a Sony console collector after all.

However this past week while on holiday I played with one quite a bit (my brother in law has one). I am so glad I didn't buy it. I really can't wait to get my hands on a Wii U though. I've got quite a few games that I bought for the Wii, but never bought the console.

That video is truly great in stating that the Wii U creates wonder where as the other two are just two new iterations. The Wii U will be my first next gen console purchase after that I'l get my PS4.

Why were you not happy with the PS4? I would have thought the PS4 and Wii U are like chalk and cheese...

With that Avatar of lightning im surprised you wouldnt go PS4 just for FF XV
