I bought a Wii last gen... I just love Nintendo games and I still do. But to be honest I got seriously burned by the fact that the wii was just simply too niche and technically-gimped compared to the PS360.
And yes, decent competitive graphics and decent multiplats do matter no matter how much you compensate for it with awesome first party titles and the odd third party gem.
Will I make the mistake of buying another Nintendo console as my primary console? Nope, not falling for that again. First buying a sony console and then maybe the Wii u if I can.
Handhelds are strictly Nintendo, no doubt about that - but consoles? Nope, Nintendo struggles to mature with its initial fans from 20 odd years ago. I would absolutely love for Nintendo to be bold and less conservative in their games and create fresh, new IP. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Zelda and Mario is cool but they're simply all variations on a very exhausted theme with new mechanics/aesthetic slapped on with every new release.
It's sad to see that the Wii U is doomed to a similar fate as the original Wii, with developers saying that they refuse to port to the Wii U due to hardware limitations. I long for a more diverse gaming experience with a huge and eclectic library at my fingertips.
