Will BT Games allow someone else to pick up a pre order?

BT and IC are the only ones doing preorders who actually have a physical presence instead of being online exclusively, and IC isn't far behind BT in terms of service and competency.

What about Musica and Look and Listen?
I know Musica are 10% off with pre orders, I think Look and Listen are up to 50 bucks off games that are pre ordered.

Didn't even know they did pre-orders, and that might be the issue. In the gaming industry, they're small fries. :p

Yeah, Musica however don't get every game in, it is just the bigger names. Look and Listen tend to be expensive with games and they open them before giving them to you which is a little irritating.
Both don't do midnight launches as far as I know.

I 'ordered' a copy of Saints Row 2 from the Musica near to me... Was told they'd probably have it within the next week of so... So, I waited a coupla days... Nothing... Waited some more, still nothing. So i eventually phoned the Musica in Tygervalley to find out if they were perhaps selling it, and indeed they did. I then had them hold the copy, bought it, played it. I was about a quarter way through the game when the Musica (Near me) phoned me to tell me they'd received the copy... I told them that I got another offer and wouldn't be able to purchase that. Does that make me a d*ck?

THIS ^ (is all true)

I work for musica, they don't care much about anything gaming related. We don't get titles are advertised, we sometimes are badly over priced and our per-orders system is not run very well. Buy a R50 gift cars use it to pay for the game and then you get 10% off.

I decided not to buy from work because it's R529 and with my discount (14%) It would still cost more (R450) then when I pre-ordered it from takealot, and have them post it to me.

I never buy from L&L because the copies are never sealed :/

Really? Been such a long time that I bought anything from L&L, that I don't remember that happening.

Yeah, they want to open it in front of you and then show you the disk. Then they make you sign the receipt to say that the goods are received aren't scratched. It totally voids any chance you have of returning the game, as you're not allowed refunds on open games.

Saw this up on their FB Page:

Hi Guys, Just a quick comment to clear up the DIABLO CE delay issue that seems to be going around.

Last month we had orders come in that never made the amount of stock we had. So these people were notifed that their order for a collectors did not qualify. We then managed to secure and extra 200 copies of the collectors for these specific orders. We notified these people on monday of certain criteria we needed, to make sure they are serious about the copy. We have since been told that these extra 200 copies we have managed to secure did not make the first shipment for the game and are thus delayed. The deposit requested for these copies are included in the final price, and not extra.

All other Diablo Collectors editions are on time. so if you have an order and have paid your deposit and your latest confirmation says Diablo collectors and not Diablo midnight launch then your game will arrive on time.

That doesn't fly with me. This is the D3 CE, and the preorder interest alone shows that they'll be able to shift the copies afterwards, even if the preorder people don't decide to take up their preorder.

Also, what's with the massive deposit on an easily saleable item? The CPA makes allowance for a cancellation fee, but stipulates that it should be a 'reasonable fee' on the basis of the ability to sell the item/service. So, given the excessive cancellation fee, and the rather one-sided nature of the other terms, one would imagine this is in contravention of the CPA...

I'm not a lawyer, so I can't take this up with them. One thing is for sure though, I'll be voting with my wallet and NOT making use of their 'service'.
