Does anyone know if I will have problems playing a PS3 game bought from the US?

AFAIK PS3/4 games are region free. I have tested imported Japanese titles on a PS4 and they work pretty well.

Yep they will work. But if you want to buy DLC, then you can have to get from the corresponding PS Store.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just curious if I would have any issues specifically with the game being in an NTSC format. Thankfully it appears my TV supports NTSC as well, though from what I've read it appears using HDMI negates any issues I might have had entirely. Now let's just hope I win the bid on eBay!

Modern TVs are all multi-format since the late 90s. In terms of LCD monitors, the same. You should have no issues. I have PS3 and 4 connected to a Samsung 23 inch 1080p computer monitor. PAL or NTSC all games look the same.
