Will the machines rule over us in 200 years time?

I've been reading and thinking a lot about artificial intelligence and autonomous machines and computers and related things recently. There is a specific reason why, but first let me tell you why I'm raising it here.

Two stories in the last few days have got me thinking about how close we are to a future that will see machines - call them robots, cyborgs, androids, whatever - that are artificially intelligent, autonomous, self-aware, and able to learn, adapt and 'evolve'.

The first story references the Google Now app on a reddit users phone:
He was asking Google Now to show him photos from various trips he took. He asked to see his photos of San Francisco, and they appeared. He asked to see photos of Spain. There they were.

Then he asked to see photos of Nice, France.

Out of the blue, before Google showed him those photos, Google Now's woman's voice said something that made him cry.

She said, "According to Gmail, firstly let me express my deepest sympathy to you, your mum and the whole family at your loss. Your dad was a fantastic man, as I am sure you already know."

His dad had died in an accident in Nice, France in 2010.

Google Now was offering him condolences on the death of his dad before showing him what could be emotionally charged photos.

The other story relates to the release of the first render images of the soon to be launched RoboRace car. RoboRace will be the first-ever driverless racing car series, directed by engineers using real time data algorithms. the RoboRace series will become an official support series the Formula E World Championship from the 2016-2017 FE season.

These are things that are happening now, in 2016. There's many more projects and examples of progress in the fields of AI and learning machines. And so to the reason for my post...

If we're already this far down the development road, where will we be in 200 years time? I'm trying to plot scenarios and environments that would be believable in 2202. But when the things of far-future science fiction are in fact science fact right now, I get lost in the process.

Will we get to the point of the movie doomsday "the machines are coming" Skynet destroys us all? Or maybe a HAL2000 reality where the computers take over? Or are we, as a species, safe because ultimately we are the ones in control?

What role do you see being played by robots and computers in average Earth in 200 years time?

a Friend and I were recently discussing AI and what impact it will have after the whole Tay debacle, anyone this came up:

Interesting thought, always wondered about it since watching the first Terminator movie.

This Singularity series of books are good so far, I am busy with book two.

This is the first book
David Ryan is the designer of ELOPe, an email language optimization program, that if successful, will make his career. But when the project is suddenly in danger of being canceled, David embeds a hidden directive in the software accidentally creating a runaway artificial intelligence.

David and his team are initially thrilled when the project is allocated extra servers and programmers. But excitement turns to fear as the team realizes that they are being manipulated by an A.I. who is redirecting corporate funds, reassigning personnel and arming itself in pursuit of its own agenda.

With the US military talking about creating AI for their weapons, a machine defeating multiple people in that game( I can't remember the name of the game) that they created. That might be the case.
