Will you be interested? South African Gaming Servers

Very good idea, I have my own TS channel for my clan in World of tanks, I have about 140 members, i get peak 60 - 70 clan mates on ts at the most, (mostly 20-30) but there is a few of them that play other games sometimes, so i created different game channels, but I think that my clan would like to mingle with your guys on ts, and have that server info for other games. Lets get in contact and talk about it...

We use our own forum atm, one of my clan mates created a nice site for us www.clubofclans.com, but it will be nice if the South African Wold of Tanks community can be part of your brainchild.

Thanks Roomys, my plan is to host gaming servers for south africa with staff who look after it and manage it properly but also a place for people to come and see what we do and host.

So perhaps advertise the servers on Mygaming and if James can make that section it would help alot regarding this, and just get the TS server going and perhaps a Facebook page.. I must admit most forums this days are pretty dead, people either use Teamspeak or Facebook to discuss things or even Twitter.

Perhaps i'll just get a domain going which points you to the list of servers thats being host with the IP's etc.. with a link to sections on MyGaming and Facebook and Teamspeak.

How does that sound?

Hi Stunt, i am not renting out game servers yet, thats one of my plans if enough people are interested in renting gaming servers from me.

I would love doing this, but depends if people are interested.

Shirou you seem quite knowledgeable on servers. If I wanted to host a Minecraft server is the cheapest way through something like Multiplay servers?
 
We definitely need a whitelisted and admined mc server please!

You should use adsense if you make a website to bring in some extra money to rent stuff.

Just looking at the prices for the player slots you can see that minecraft is most probably resource and bandwitdh dependend reason for the high prices, also depends what your plans are for your minecraft server.

If you plan to host for about 10 players or more, i would rent a server from a GSP or if you have your own dedicated server set one up instead.

If you just want to play on it yourself and 1 or 2 friends.. host it on your PC :)

I could most probably host Minecraft, but i already have something eating my resources.. Starbound server and then the WoW server i host, if i would get paid to just host game servers for the community i would buy another server anytime, but currently it's all coming out my pocket.

I am still not sure what you guys want.

a) Are you guys more interested in renting your own game servers to be hosted in South Africa.
b) Are you guys more interested that i host several game servers requested just for playing on them.

I'm interested in playing on one and would love to rent one but it appears that costs can get quite expensive and I'm a student :p
 
Option B.

Though, for sparse communities like ARMA,MC etc. option A will help you sustain the server side of things.
 
hmm, yea still thinking this through and how todo this which will work out and if people will support it.

Idea is to get a domain, and perhaps a forum where all the listed game servers that will be hosted be advertised on with the teamspeak server, so then if someone are interested they then just go there and get the server info and come join on the server and teamspeak.

You could always get a ts channel on someone else's server... But i guess a dedicated ts server would be quit e a lot better
 
So far if anyone are interested we have a teamspeak 3 server which was now renamed to -=GamersNetwork=- if you search in your TS connect browser, Feel free to join and be part.

So far what is happening is that i am looking what are the most popular games to host servers for, if we get our hands on it, specialy new games and get a server up where we can all enjoy together on, and the more we grow and play together the more we learn each-other and as new games come out we jump on that and play it again and hope to throw in another server as new games pop out :)

I'll probably get a website going or forums for it just to throw all information on, but let me know what you guys think of this idea and will it be something that you will interest in joining and support?
