Will you buy CoD: Black Ops without local servers?

Maybe because of the disaster that was moh airborne. Where as cod had hit after hit.
 
I'll wait till Mappy (the deity of all things online FPS) lets me know which is better. Or if both is good.

That's the issue I have, granted it was a beta, but it did not impress on any level. Fingers crossed that they've improved it a lot since then.

Yeah thats the thing, sure it was a beta and the bugs were clear and frustrating, but the actual game play was meh.

Hopefully it has improved.

Edited and Quoted for emphasis. No one wants to play an online FPS with more than a 100ms as the experience gets completely warped and a really good game will come across like a crock of sh!te.

As excited as I was for this, unless we get dedicated servers in SA, I will NOT be getting this.
 
No Matchmaking and no dedicated servers? WTF is the point for any of us then?

100+ ms does not a fun game make.
 
It will depend on the cost for me, because if the multiplayer is going to be poor, R600 can be a bit steep for just a few hours of singleplayer.
 
I'm seriously concerned. I have always been a big fan of COD. Bought the MW2 just now with the expansions with my new pc a week ago, only to realize this NO local server and p2p kak. Now I’m reading forums to find out how to get past his crap to play online as with COD4 MW1. If they don’t have local servers with Black Ops I won’t buy it and most prob go to MOH.

Settle down spud, MW2 still works, match making is pretty decent, you just have to have some patience or a nice long friends list and just join their games.

Black ops on the other sounds like there is ZERO hope for PC users, I think I will still consider this on Xbox, playing online even with players abroad works. Amazingly enough.
 
Ill still get it! Wanna see what it is like first hand. Its not gonna be a great graphics increase but that is what Crysis 2 is gonna be there for. As for Multiplayer i will try play and see what the lag and latency is gonna be like. Wont play multi if its kak but ill give it a good go. Multi is apparently gonna be awesome on crysis 2 so if black ops is gonna fail it will at least be worth the money in the mean time. I HOPE!

Excuse me? Most nights I've tried, I land up spending more time in lobbies or with hung games because the host left mid game than actual game time. Match making might work on console, but it is the most fucked up system for PC. This is merely my opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I seriously detest the system. Don't get me wrong, the game itself is cool, but why can I not just start my game, click search browsers and double click to join a server of my choice?

Definitely not buying it. It's time to put your foot down at games that you know is a load of BS. I'm not buying a game again that I know is going to be a waste of my well earned money.

I'll be waiting for Brink, coming Q1 next year. Now that's a game with some thought, blood, sweat and tears behind it.

I dont think so hey. From what i have heard is that if you get 60fps (full settings with 16AA) on the current Crysis you should be fine. The first crysis was a beast. Dont think we will have a problem at all. At least i hope so. That is why i have been upgrading, is to get my rig Crysis 2 ready. I really hope i can at least get a steady 35 or 40 fps out of it. haha
