Win 10 not connecting to Mac server...

Hi guys

So I have a very peculiar problem. Our file server was infected with randsomware last week so we're back to the Mac Mini Server till IT has rectified the problem.

Now my problem comes in when I try to connect to the mac server it just keeps telling me my username or password is incorrect. Now initially I thought this was a Win 10 issue seeing as the Win 7 machines connect fine. But after a bit more testing it turns out that it's only the machines that were upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 that have this problem. The clean install Win 10 systems connect fine as well.

Now I have exhausted my google options and still not working :cry:

Anybody else run into this problem?

Any advice at this stage would be appreciated as it is holding up the workflow now.

Have you cleared the cached credentials on the Windows 10 PC?
 
were the user accounts renamed after the upgrade, I have seen that a renamed account will still try and connect with the old username found on the user folder instead of the current account name displayed in windows itself, if you manually insert correct details does it allow you to connect ? Is it supposed to connect without Auth ?

My user account was newly created on the Mac server today, which I have to enter manually when attempting to access it.
 
Check under, C:\Users is the folder name with your data the same as the username needed to access the server ?

It wasn't and then we changed it and still nothing. But that's not the problem cause I can log into the server from other pc's that are not running WIN 10 upgrades.
 
You tired changing the network security settings , I know this is more inbound but you would be surprised, maybe compare a machine that works and one that doesn't and see if anything different

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

If you create a brand new user profile on a PC that doesn't work and have a user setup on the server that matches the new user what happens ?

Also if you have a av like kaspersky that has some type of network protection or encryption setting turn that off or completely remove it ?

Done all that. All machines run the same AV. And I can access the server using my credentials on all machines except the 2 that are running Win 10 upgrades

Iset the Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level to "Send NTLMv2 response only" as one forum suggested but still not working :cry:
 
wtf :wtf: mmm , at this point it seems it would be quicker to reload two machines, although I would prob get to the point of wanting to kill myself first as well because why?

Yeah I REALLY don't want to do that
 
The problem has been resolved. Seems the MyBB people are smarter than the MyG crew "whistling: :p
