Windows 7 BETA conundrum

Here is my problem:

Bright fellow that I am, I neglected to write the version of the Windows 7 Beta I downloaded on the disc to which I burned it.

I need to know whether what I have on the disc is the 32 or 64 bit version.

Do you know of any way I might find out what version I have without installing it?

Thank you

One would have thought MS would have made it a little more obvious, but the company which brought us "Are you sure you really, really, really want to delete this" and the oversimplified control panel didn't do it.

VMware server is a free virtual machine creator. Download it, install and you can make a virtual windows 7 machine.

Although... won't it tell you if you just put the copy in?

Nope, I put my copy in yesterday and it won't tell me whether it is a 32 or 64 bit version.

Thank you for the help.

the 64bit version is is 3.15gb or more the disc siz... If it 2.xxGb then it the 32Bit... Best i could do mat

That was the version of reference 64Bit from microsoft:

7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVDe. (3.15GB)

Any luck yet? I think the size is definitely your best bet so far. I can't remember there being any indication of what version I was installing when I installed it.

Its quite easy to tell. There is a vast difference in size. Stick the disk in, check the disk space used on the DVD.

32 bit version comes to about 2.6 GB (Maybe a tad more)
64 bit version clocks in at about 3.15 - 3.2 GB.

Hope that helps you resolve your problem :D

<sigh> Unfortunately it is the 32 bit version.

I shall have to get a copy from my friend whern next I pay him a visit.
