Nope, never tried out a mechanical keyboard. But there is a first for everything! :-D

Cool Master have impressed me lately with some of their kit. If only they made quality motherboards too, so I could replace my one that decided to stop working last week :-/

I think mechanical keyboards are awesome, however there is a catch.

Most mechanical keyboard has a distinct clicking noise as you press the keys and when you do a lot of typing it can get a bit annoying hearing these constant clicks. You do get ones that are quieter, but they tend to be the more pricey keyboards.

Then again this is from online impressions and not my own first hand experience... Hint hint :)

That clicking sound just makes mechanical keyboards all the sweeter :-D Feels like you're typing the instructions to launch a missle or something.

Yooh I would not mind a mechanical keyboard. My roommate had one... and used to keep me up at night with the "taka taka taka" from his mechanical keyboard while he was chatting to people on facebook...

I just bought a new gaming rig, but still need a decent keyboard and mouse. Thats next on my shopping list. I have a CM chassis, and now CM gaming headset, this will make a nice addition.

I have a coolermaster mouse pad. Though, in its current state; looks more like an overly used coaster :(
Not to mention, it's only my 2 hands sizes big.

Could someone enlighten me about the advantages of a mechanical keyboard (other than sounding and looking cool)? Or perhaps how I can test the limitations of my current keyboard?

I have not yet had the opportunity to play with a mechanical keyboard, but think it would go nicely with my CM Storm mouse [courtesy of MyGaming, and my CM case [not a storm].Also....my biffday is coming up. ;-)
