Ok, I've been here for 4 years and I've seen a few things over my time here.
Firstly I love the community here, if people need help there are people willing to help out. These problems can range from problems in a game, hardware issues on a gaming PC to even general accounting office from student to another. In that sense i believe the off-topic and threadkiller is certainly a great pillar of support in the community. As such, going forward I would like to see that remain.
Then I enjoy the light hearted articles on the news side, I enjoy catching up on the gaming news I have have missed when i've been busy and enjoying the humor squeezed into each article. I also enjoy the gaming specials also included, although I believe it can be expanded a little. Instead of focusing on specials on games, maybe try include board games, t-shirt and other geek centred specials poping up on Raru, awx and heroes of geeks and comics etc.
Other things i'd like to see more of is a focus on the local Geek culture. We have numerous conventions throughout the year and I think including articles on upcoming events and expos would be useful. Additionally there are a lot of other smaller events happening around the country. There is a large Yu-gi-oh tounament in sandton this weekend, next week is the regional gauteng championship for pokemon in Pretoria and in May is the national tournament for Pokemon. I think Mygaming should start speaking to Blowfish entertainment for example to see what trading card and board game events are happening around. These can be included on a monthly geek calender or news article to raise interest and get gamers out the house and interacting with each other. Maybe invite people to submit articles about past events to also raise awareness.
Lastly I'd like to see more support for more local comic shops. I know that add revenue is large source of income for the site, however I think local businesses like Battlewizards, heroes of geeks and comics and outer limits should be approached if they would like a chance to place a banner on the page or allow them to include their specials in your weekly articles.
My gaming is a community and i'd love to see it grow in leaps and bounds. Thus my over-all theme is to support local gaming and geek events. Get members attending events together and to help show newbies how to be more geeky. I don't think mygaming should limit itself to video games, gaming is so much more. It's about video games, board games, trading card games, cosplay, geek culture and clothing. From e-sports to comic books store trading evenings. Gaming is massive in SA, I think mygaming just needs to show it.
