Mygaming.co.za is a gaming forum
They have competitions
Competitions award prizes
these prizes aren't well related to the gaming market

Ironic much? Im more curious why the prize is an average consumer 8" tablet and not something like a tab s or shield?

There have been many amazing gaming prizes. Just because it's a gaming forum doesn't mean that is all we are interested in.

I spend hours gaming on my little nexus android tablet, and have titles like GTA, banner saga, Might and magic etc, and even plants vs zombies. Either way I'm not complaining. I wouldn't turn my nose up at any free geek toys. I also wouldn't be surprised if the prizes are sponsored.

Just so there's no confusion: this prize isn't sponsored. If anything, MyBroadband sponsored the prize as we bought and paid for it from our office coffee fund (not really, I had to choose between my salary and coffee and of course I chose coffee).

That's possible. It's also possible that I wasn't really paying attention. That tends to happen between mondays and fridays.

Oh? well respect to you guys then. I always assumed the prizes came from tech companies just wanting the exposure.
Glad to hear it was a choice between your salary and coffee and not the prizes and coffee :D Maybe you should give out a cappuccino maker next- talk about a conflict of interests.

2012 Nexus 7 actually. It plays GTA vice city and GTA 3 perfectly. Banner saga struggles a little- you have to make sure that everything is closed, but you can still play on it. Mostly I play smaller games like plants vs zombes, or star command etc. I probably have around 40 games installed- most are for the kiddie, and another 40+ in my account. (Amazon free app of the day is my best friend.)
 
And here I was hope for a portable HD. Seriously, this is a cool prize. Best wishes to all entrants.
