Interestingly enough, I only played a few of the games listed. I went for Mass Effect though, I got properly stuck into that game

Growing up I can remember sneaking to the PC late at night whilst everyone was asleep to play Commander Keen. I loved it.. It is the one game of my childhood that till today I remember..The aliens, the pogo stick... The worry of being caught playing on the pc on a school night..

I voted for Starcraft 2, it was tight between that, Rome Total War and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I have invested so many hours in the other 2 but with Starcraft 2 it was a game that I was hyped for and didn't feel let down and have enjoyed every minute of playing it without ever feeling bored.

From the games in the list I would definitely have to go with Mass Effect. I completely changed the way I look at story-driven action RPG games, and everything from the genre I now compare to that game.

I would also have to throw in FIFA09 because of sentimental reasons. :-)

Was a toss up between Mass Effect and Assassins Creed for me. Went for Assassins Creed cause I don't know how it ends yet and have been playing it for longer and love every minute of it.

The only really nostalgic one on that list of Bladurs Gate 2.

No Age of Empires 1 or 2?

No red alert?

Who thought of that list?

GO FOR THE EYES BOO! GO FOR THE EYEEEES!

But back on topic, BG 2 i wasted COUNTLESS hours, the only really annoything that irritated me (this even happened in BG1) i only had a 2GB hard drive back in the day. And running out of space i opted for a minimal install, bad idea... You start the game, "please insert disk 3" ummm ok why not 1? but ok... Go to the next zone and its please insert disk one that was the MOST annoying thing ever happened to me in games.

Pity cant vote for more than 1 because Half-Life 1 would be a close second, remember back in school days HL DM, and the bunker stage, where you would just camp, and push the button for the nuke to come down. Pot shotting anyone with a crossbow who attempted to make it for the bunker through the open field. Oh dont forget about the trip mines xD. Fun times...

GTA 3, didnt really play it that much, however whenever watching a friend play it used to listen to the radio station that just has those funny commercials, no music just listen to commercials all day while driving around lol.

Starcraft 2, not really nostalgic however StarCraft 1 was the actual game that got me into gaming, just used to watch my friends dad play and become so absorbed in the game, i used to listen to the sound track to get me to fall asleep. I especially loved the zerg OST and thats what actually made me into a zerg player.

And my experience with with Assassins Creed pretty much sums it up in these 2 pictures...

Man, i remember back in the day playing Half Life on my Pentium II 350Mhz and the first Ge-Force 1. The game was epic and recently played the Black Mesa remake using source engine and was impressed.

Great game and great times.

I'm surprised that not a single sport/driving game are in this list

As far as games go also, I have very found memories of Duke Nukem 3D and Worms... The hours spent playing those... (also Wolfentsein, but now i'm showing my age :) )

I voted for Guild Wars since it was my favourite gaming mmo when I was really into gaming and nothing could beat it in playability and fun trying to get the rare green and gold items.

As much as I wanted to vote for Baldurs Gate (I mean it's BG!), I thought a minute and then cast my vote for GTAIII. It broke the mould and gave us a true sandbox epic that just blew us away. Dozens of friends at your place, hours upon hours of time wasted, mega-litres of beer guzzled and kg's of pizza consumed ...... what could be a better memory. GTAIII, I, we, salute you!

Since we've found ourselves in a relaunch of the original Half Life series, I was really REALLY excited to see Black Mesa. My vote goes to Half Life 2 since it was probably my favourite in the Orange Box set and following behind that would have to be Episode 1. For those that are not aware of this but SiN Episodes ran on the Source Engine itself.

Apologies for straying a little off topic but I guess it could be because I'm a valve/source engine fanboi. :o

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic;
I enjoyed 1 and 2, each time, finally assembling your lightsaber, memorable times. Then DUAL lightsabers!!
Played both through as a Lightside female character and Darkside male character to see all the story elements. Still have both games in my drawer of "Current" games even though they're old now, I always think I may just install and replay them again :D

I voted for Assassins Creed. Loved Baldur's Gate and SC2, but for me Assassins Creed was such an awesome concept, and seemed, to me anyway, something completely different in terms of environment and gameplay. But yet, it also reminded me of the splintercell games where being stealthy made the game that much more challenging. Looking forward to the next installment.

Half-life 1 was my actual all-time favourite game out there. I still like it because it's easy for people to mod it and they still make mods for HL1. A new mod came out called Cry of Fear and it is awesome. I used to download like small mods about 100MB max. it adds like a new campaign etc etc. Counter-strike was one of my first total conversions for the game. I started off with Counter-Strike 6.1 BETA.
