Which is your favourite game?

I voted for Rome Total War. I would of voted for Medieval II : Total War had it been there.

The Total War series is epic, barring Empire Total War.

The scale of the battles is legendary.
 
Starcraft 2, surprisingly enough, got my adrenalin pumping more than other games. Since your game-play is so reliant on the enemy, you cannot win with any single strategy. Every game is different depending on what unit was built or attacked at any stage, meaning a player had to be versatile and their abilities are forced to evolve
 
Rome Total Wars, it was like the strategy game that I didn't know I was waiting for. The depth of the scale and reality of the battle was beyond any RTS that was being offered by the competitors.
 
Although I really enjoyed Half Life 2, Starcraft 2 has been the one I have had the most stress and pleasure in going back to over and over again.
 
I voted Assassins Creed. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the promo footage for its release. It combined my 3 favourite gameplay mechanics; free roaming, stealth and melee combat. The ability to free run was the sweetest addition to all of this and it had one of the coolest stories to boot. I was actually dissapointed when I completed the game, I just wanted it to carry on!

Thank heavens its a long lasting series now but the first one will always be special.

Because it's awesome? :)

No but on a more serious note all those games are great and each brought something to the table and advanced the genre in some way. It's a good list and any one of those games deserves to win.

I just found the AC series to be so repetitive and boring. Just endless running about performing the same moves over and over again.
 
Half life does it for me, the first time a head crab jumped at me and I almost soiled my pants. Actually every single time one came jumping at me was a half terrifying / fun experience.

Of all the games I've played over the years, Half life 1 (and in a way 2) will always be the one, that opening scene in the sky lift / conveyor taxi thingy was just something else, and then the gameplay, even the multiplayer was all just one giant nerdgasm

Actually, I think it's time to dust off the orange box so to speak, and re-download it :)
 
I think deciding between Halflife, Baldurs and SW:KOTOR hardest gaming decision ever. In the end, it had to be Baldurs.

Man, the world of Baldurs was just so amazing. Everything had a story and every action a consequence. I remember the first time I played. I thought I'd casually just take down so people with magic in the streets. Then that council appeared (the one that polices the use of magic). I was like whatever, I'll just take them down. OH NO NO NO. Kicked my ass. Solidly. So then I thought I'd run away. OH NO NO NO. They will find you.

Wow, I can't believe its been so long since I played it. I actually don't want to think how many hours I spent playing it. This was one of the last games I played that really REALLY managed an amazing mix of action, strategy and puzzles. These days things are too black and white. It's either a hack n slash looter OR it's an action story orientated game OR its a puzzler. But Baldur's walked that line that permanently made you think "What next".

The are releasing the original Baldurs on iPad soon. Seriously, best news ever.

Indeed:D. To be honest, I never played Baldur's Gate, but I'm sure it was a memorable experience for those who played it, just as every other game in the list:)...
 
Actually my favourite game is League of Legends...but since it's not there I'll have to vote for Half-Life, probably the only game I finished twice.

The game that will for ever be the game I love is Baldurs Gate. Why? It got my then Girlfriend (now wife) hooked on games. From there we went to time splitters, halo, rainbow six, gears of war etc, but Baldurs Gate, was the gate way game for her. :P
 
Damn, its hard to choose. But HL2 was bloody awesome to me! KotOR introduced me to RPG style gaming, and I am forever thankful of that! AC, loved the story! Gameplay was fun as well!
