*WINNER ANNOUNCED* Xbox One giveaway

A couple of posts a day will keep the doctor away.

Seriously, I don't have a lot of time either. It doesn't take a lot of time to be in the top 50. Besides, the whole idea of the competition is to get more people to be active on the forum. It's a forum for chatting and posting. Not for winning prizes.

So if you are just here for the prize then it means you won't stay afterwards and be active.

Next time, think about why things are as they are. Especially if you think you are being discriminated against. Because you are missing the point.

The truth is like a quote from Solitude.

The most sincere way of explaining something to someone to get them to think about what they said. :)

Feels a little like i'm being discriminated against, this competitions is only for the select few that has the privilege to sit infront of a pc the whole day and be active. where i don't have that opportunity. Basically i'm already (disqualified) from this competition due to (Inactivity). I'm sure i'm not the only on that feels this way.?!

Yes privilege, as I've said.
And they want 50 most active, not interesting or enjoyable.!?

Like Solitude said, it is not that hard to get to or even stay in the top 50.

Yes, I am one of those 'privileged' who have access to and sit in front of a PC all day long. It's my job. But I am so busy I hardly get a chance to even glance at what goes on during the day.

Where I get my daily posts in is mainly in the mornings when there is nothing going on yet.

Try to stick around, this is a nice place to be :)

I've been super lucky this month, no real work to do as I'm handing over, etc. so my post count for this month is abnormally high. However for all the n00bs, read the forums, interact with the forumites and don't feed the trolls. Most of us don't bite unprovoked.

Still lying in the top 30 which is prolly ok i guess seeing as i can't be that active do to me working my ass of still

I think we need more people like Dohc-WP that post post genuinely interesting threads. One thing I hate is posting just for the sake of posting, it's feels forced and people can see right through it.

Mygaming is so small compared to forums like sagamer in terms of community. Much more content and interesting threads that are not just related to gaming.

This place needs less threads like that (gaming articles) ....... anyone can copy pasta shit from the internet, doesn't make it interesting. The MyG writers should be the only ones posting 'articles'.

Yeah, but that implies that I frequent gaming sites actively seeking out gaming news (which I never have time to do). So to me personally I think it's good that I can find all these articles and news on a single forum like MyG.

That's just my opinion, man.

Thing is Sometimes we find interesting articles before the myG head honcho's do and it makes for an interesting read. And some articles posted wold never even make it onto the forum because the Honcho's are just too busy to get around to browsing the internet for all the cool and interesting stories so we as a community just help them out from time to time

And Mephisto you called me a legend so don't go hammer me now :p

What I mean is, member created threads are the lifeblood of a forum. Not copy pasta'd crap but our own whacky stuff. Leave the articles to the staff, the forum needs unique member input more. I know some people can only copy stuff, that's their MO but I like to think that the majority of forum users are not that unimaginative and lame.

Exactly why I don't 'really' like creating new threads about articles I read and sourcing it. Half the time I think you guys have already seen the stuff.

Still feels like i'm at a disadvantage, but i'll try to be more active.!

Even if you don't make it for the comp, this is a lekker community to be apart of :)

Agree 100% yeah! Have seen lots of articles on here that have been copied that i have already read a week before the time

Not at all, 2 posts a day is an easy target to reach. You really don't need to be in front of the forums all day long at all.

Comp's might be also part of the problem I think.
A healthy forum shouldn't rely on activity comps to keep it active. There's just something wrong that...

Why? Are you disadvantaged because you don't want to contribute and support the site. Maybe it because you joined a site 2 years ago and now feel you entitled to enter every competition that said site holds now.

These competitions are funded by the pockets of MG, their revenue comes from advertising and this advertising is driven by views. Now if Fred makes a post about dogs and gets 100 views MG gets paid for a 100 views. If however Fred just looks at the pages and doesn't read anything he generates 1 view. Surely it makes sense for the staff of MG to create a competition to reward the people who give the fine staff of MG a paycheck each month?

Sometimes I think people forget that somebody paid for that Xbox sitting in Jan's office waiting to find a new home. Someone who needs to recover the cost of that xbox and feed his family, it's not just something he stole from the xbox store and decided to give away.

So in my opinion an activity competition is perfectly fair, any body who says they are disadvantaged is only disadvantaged by themselves and their unwillingness to get off the couch and do something.

Am I the only one here who thinks it's unfair that we have people who refuse to contribute the upkeep of a website and pay (even indirectly) but then demand that content is tailored to their needs. It's like walking into a strangers house and saying "buy me a R5 000 rand chair for me to sit on whenever i'm visiting with your salary."
