I'm with the consensus on this one. Yes the original was great, but the second one definitely improved on it and the story was actually quite fresh. Brotherhood was okay-eish and Revelation I never even finished, because it just got meh... With ALL the extra things you could do in Revelation it just got a bit much for me.

Hopefully 3 will return to basics and not overwhelm you with things to do. I can understand it increases the replayability, however repetition is not a good way of achieving this. Get bored of doing the same thing, over and over... Here's looking at you Diablo III.
 
I personally see all the ezio games as one big uber game, cmon! I'm still busy playing Brotherhood multiplayer in anticipation of AC3.
 
AC2 was my favorite. The story was great and it kept me busy for 18 hours according to steam.
Can't wait for the new one to come out. Think it should be the best of the series. I just hope that the ending doesn't disappoint.
 
At first I thought the addition of multiplayer was a bad idea, but man, after playing it in Brotherhood, my opinion flipped. It's *so* much fun.
 
Didn't want to start a whole new thread for this, but who likes Desmond? I see the general feeling across the interwebz is that he detracts from the experience. I actually like the guy and he ties everything together for me quite nicely. Even after what happened at the end of Brotherhood...
 
Can't wait for this game to come out!! Loved the series ever since I played even the drab AC1, but its gotten WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY better now!!!!
 
Anybody else feel like Revelations was the worst of the lot?
Just didnt have as much charisma as the previous 2. I to this day can still jam AC2 or ACB for hours, but play Revelations for a short while and i'm done.

Can anyone comment on the Multiplayer aspect in general? I've not played even a minute of it

I voted for Brotherhood. I only played AC1, and AC:BH, so I can't really comment on AC2 or Revelations, but BH was way better than 1.
 
I have played all 4, the best was brotherhood, but then revelations had a good story line, didn't like the den defense at all .

I'm voting Brotherhood. I loved the large map as opposed to the previous titles various towns, it flowed better and opened up a lot more room to explore. Then they brought out the BAM system which was really useful, especially when chasing pick pockets. My only issue was the item trading to get the weapon/ extras upgrades which was really annoying. Still best out of the 4 in my opinion
 
Played em all and I think Brotherhood was the best. Liked the map, the story was really good, excellent music and just fantastic atmosphere.
Revelations had it's moments too but I thought it was a bit of a let-down. Didn't like the blackk anamis or the Desmond missions at all and it kinda felt a bit easier and much shorter than the others. And they kinda went overboard with the Eagle sense stuff...
