Here at MyGaming, it is our privilege to bring you the latest gaming news, features and reviews. Thanks to the MyGaming community we have some good news to report about MyGaming itself.

The DMMA/Effective Measure provides audited statistics for South Africa's most prominent websites. The May 2012 statistics revealed that MyGaming has the largest South African readership of all gaming websites in the country.

To celebrate the fact that MyGaming is the top gaming website in South Africa, and to thank the community for the support, we are giving away an Xbox 360 (250GB) gaming console and branded MyGaming gear.

How to enter

Post a paragraph in this thread to tell us why you joined MyGaming and why you continue to visit the website.

Rules

- Post once in this thread. This is your entry into the competition.

- Minimum of 20 lifetime posts required to qualify by time of the draw.

- Spamming to get yourself to 20 posts will get you disqualified.

- Reviving old threads and making pointless posts will not be tolerated and will be monitored. Fair warning.

- Make sure you are up to speed with the MyGaming Forum rules.

- Entrants must be a resident of and residing in South Africa.

Winner announce

- On Monday, 18 June 2012, at 11AM, the winner will be chosen.

- If the prize is not claimed by 11AM, Wednesday, 20 June 2012, a new winner will be chosen at 48 hour intervals until claimed.

- The winners will be announced in this thread, as well as in a new thread in the MyGaming competition forum.

As for "Why?" Well.. Why not?

I joined back when MyGaming was first made known on MyBroadband. I couldn't resist joining a gaming community that seemed so endearing--and it proved to be just that.

Three years later, MyG is still going strong and the biggest appeal has to be rabid petting-zoo of writers you've accrued.

I'll shamefully admit that I originally joined for the comps. What brought me back, though, was the good and honest reviews, articles and people here. I also enjoyed talking to people in my own locality.
 
I joined myGaming a few weeks after it started up after it was posted about on myBroadband, where I was a somewhat infrequent visitor.

I stay here, quite simply, because of the news, the interaction I get with the friends I've made while being a member of these forums, and because myGaming has been pretty good, over the last couple of year, in showing its appreciation towards those of us that have been hanging around :)
 
I joined because everyone at work was already on and I felt like the odd one out lol
And I'm staying because of good articles and awesome people

I was sitting at work one day and it was really quiet "whistling:, i used to frequent MyBB quite alot and when looking at their gaming section it wasnt all that busy with gaming news to be honest :(, then while cruising the forums i saw a link to a mygaming forum post with regards to something about an Xbox :eek:. once on the forum i saw the home page link to MyGaming and it was pretty much love :love: at first sight :love:

and to prove that i have a big mouth and lots of opinions on all the articles, currently the 2nd top commentor for mygaming using disqus, second only to tehBrad

I joined after seeing a post on MyBB. I keep coming back cause this is where I get all the info on new, old and upcoming games. And while I may not be as active in the debating as I used to be I'll continue to come back, every day, just to see what's going on. :)
 
The community on MyGG is always helpfull, I joined a few year back, just to be able to make one or 2 comments, but over the last year+ I have found myGg to be the place to go for information, chats, help etc etc etc

I joined in the search of a decent gaming community since the current one I was on was a little too elitist for my taste. Suffice it to say I'm liking the folks around these parts. :)
 
Joined to stay up to date about gaming news. Also joined for the awesome competitions.
I visit the site at least 5 times a day to check for updates in the gaming world.

Articles are pretty cool. The local gaming scene is always nice to read up on.

I think I initially found the site through a Google search, and MyGaming had the closest result to my question. I keep on coming back for the type of posts, the very limited amount of trolling and the Off-Topic threads, which are always interesting.

I was also a reader for a LONG time before I became an active poster.
 
As soon as I saw the MyGaming website all those years ago, I signed up :). According to my profile I was the 22nd person to join the forum and since then I've been hooked. Awesome community, all the latest gaming news and of course the legendary comps!
 
Why the hell did we join & why do we keep coming back?

Well, it's easy, in SA we are a bit deprived of good gaming news for South Africans by South Africans, the community is steadily growing & thus we need information, well, you are damn well one of the best websites offering relevant gaming updates/news to a 100k + unique people, we need you, we want to know about gaming so we come back for more, added bonus is that this site is a joy to visit, also the comps are worth it, a bit of support back to your supporters is always a nice touch....

Thanks for a great gaming site for SA! Keep it up!
 
I used to be a lurker/infrequent poster over at MyBB. I immediately had a look when they announced MyGaming, and have been a lurker/infrequent poster here ever since :D The quality of content and the community has kept me coming back over and over again, and winning prizes like my copy of Diablo 3 (thank you, MyG and Exclusives!) made my stay especially pleasant!

When I first got Adsl and needed info about Isp's etc. I went onto MyBB daily for info and advice. It was there that I found out about MyGaming through a link and over the next few weeks my visits to MyGaming became daily (and then more than once a day). I'm glad I got involved in the forum community and for me it's part of what makes MyGaming so appealing, not only do you get up-to-date articles that you can red through quickly but also a wealth of info from the forum and a few laughs as well.
 
I was previously on myBB a lot, and wasn't really been a big gamer. Yeah I owned an xbox, had a few games, but only really became a gamer when I got adsl and decided to plug the xbox in...."just to see what XBL was like...." Its been all systems go since then.
I joined mygaming because of a compo and have also never looked back. The community here has since fuelled my addiction, kept me up to date and my wallet light. Exactly how it should be :D

Well I stumbled upon mygaming by accident whilst looking for a review and I been coming back ever since. I always check out whats new in the gaming world and this community is way more helpful and friendlier compared to the other sites where people just mostly rage. The competitions are the cherry on top :D
