*WINNER* Win an Xbox 360 (250GB) with MyGaming

I joined when it was advertised on the Mybroadband forum. I was previously on the NAG forum & read their magazine regularly too, but the way they ran their site left a lot to be desired, so I moved to Mybroadband which provided infrequent gaming news, BUT the site was not run by the sort of people running NAG (they had reprimands and bans for the most ridiculous things, and if you dont like it, leave). Mybroadband wasn't ideal, but still felt better than NAG.

Yes I know you have their Tarryn, but she's not as bad :p

When this site was created it felt perfect :)

The articles are informative without being too short or too long, screenshots and embedded video are provided on a lot of articles, and you do actually respond to issues in a positive way (such as the article comment system that used to get abused)

I was even a supporter of your online store from day one and had friends asking me if I had shares in it or knew the owners lol

I joined MyGaming to read some gaming related news (from a South African POV), post in the forums and enter the odd competition or so :p

I'll keep coming back for all of the above :)

To be honest, I had been visiting a few gaming websites (while not being a member). Eventually while doing a search on some news relating to BF3, if not mistaken, I came across MyGaming which happened to be up to date with a lot of gaming news. The frequency of the news items updated grabbed my attention, so I thought "why not check out the community of this platform?". I lurked for about a month on the forums, watching how a plethora of topics were being discussed and I was convinced that this was a community I'd like to be a part of. Never once regretted joining the MyGaming community:D (Someone really needs to relieve me of the TK Noob hat"whistling:)

I stumbled onto the forum / website by accident I was googling local game sites because I was looking for reviews/opinions on games from local people as I found that members here are like minded people. The site is always up to date with the latest trends etc and EVERY morning before I start working I log on quickly just to browse the latest news / reviews
Its also heart warming to see readers receive prizes from the site and the competitions are always excellent ones (I have won a game before on here) and dealing with the admin members proved to be a pleasurable expierance.
Im not as active on here as I would like to be due to work commitments but I have always enjoyed browsing here during my lunch hour. PLEASE keep up the goodwork and good luck to everyone entering

I joined the Myaming Website as it was a way of keeping up with the trends of the nitty gritty of the gaming industry. It keeps me up to date with technology as well as I am a gadget freak.

I continue visiting the site as the news is always accurate and up-to-date with technology game reviews and tech trends....
It's an awesome site and the blogs are interesting reads too...

Firstly, wow I didn't realize MyG had gotten that big, awesome stuff. :)

As for why I joined, well I originally created an account when this place first sprang up but never really checked the forums. I can't really say what changed but once I started becoming more active here I pretty quickly realised that this place is more closely aligned with my gaming interests then any other SA forum. Sure Lycan tried to chase me off the first time I arrived :P but I stayed anyway and it was totally worth it.

I joined in the long run because of Lycanthrope. I first chatted with him on a particular game forum. He mentioned this site and I would browse around reading things at work to save myself from the boredom.
I joined in April last year during the height of the Exclusives comps. Started chatting to everyone here more and more and really liked the people and coverage that was happening here. Glad to be a part of this place. Big Ups to Mygaming on the awesome news of their interwebz dominations

I joined MyGaming yay back when it was new becuase SA didnt have a good and active gaming site. I might have missed one though. I stayed here even when my previous employer blocked the site. I mean I do have internet at home but one cant work the whole day! Translate anyone? :P

I stay here and continue to be somewhat active as I like the news section, visit a couple of times a day and the forumites are also interesting. (Read; deranged and mental....just the kind of ppl I like!)

Gratz MyGaming!

Back in the day, SA didnt really have a dedicated and active gaming scene, so MyGaming filled that gap, and grew. I was actually a MyBroadband frequenter, and when the article came about a dedicated gaming sister-site, i jumped on it.
Yes, its nice to have variety in different intl. sites, but all the critical and new information is accessible from this site and I really like the vibe and feel of our own local gaming site.
This site is open 24/7 on my PC, ready for a refresh :P

I love the fact that you are trying to grow the gaming community and scene in SA.
I enjoy reading the articles and find a lot of value in the forums as well.
As such, i will continue to visit MyGaming regularly for my daily/hourly game news fix :)

I joined MyGaming because I read Tarryn's Duke Nukem sexism article on the site, and wanted to weigh in on it on the forums as well. I stayed because this place is actually rather fun. Got some interesting people passing through here from time to time.

Why I joined: I joined MyGaming because my brother first introduced to the site (Won't mention his name :P)
Also... I love games. And it's good to meet more gamers who have the interests as I do. I love MyGaming... It's my second home ;)

Why I continue to visit: My MyGaming family lives here... And it's good to keep in contact with them, and get to know their opinions on games, hardware... And anything else that matters, not that I value anyone's opinion... Just kidding :p

Also... I get pretty much up-to-date gaming news, which I definitely appreciate. Haven't found any gaming site in SA that's as good. MyGaming 4 Life Homie!

I also joined MyGaming when I first started gaming on an iBurst modem and things weren't going the way I expected (or the way iBurst sold it to me).

Nowadays, I'm still gaming on iBurst, and it's going much better, thanks to the help from the guys on these forums as well as on the MyBroadBand forums.

Still the best place to come to for gaming news!

Reason for joining: Joined for the competitions. Especially for the shiny new Diablo 3 collectors edition.

Reason for continue to visit: More competitions. Especially for the shiny new Xbox 360.

- Also its exam time. When the stress become to much just surfing the forums for the lolz.

I first joined for the competitions. But now I keep coming back because the community is awesome and to get gaming news occasionally.

Joined the forum for the comp's but nonetheless been visiting the site since i started working in a game shop 3 years ago needed the info to keep clients up to date which causes me to troll any local gaming site for info. Still work there but through all the time been checking mygaming the most. It's accurate and doesn't rely on hear say. also some of the user comments are very helpful and never, ever delete the off topic section love it to bits.

I'm not even gonna pretend I'm a local on this site, I found your site about a year ago on my phone and I am glad I did find it. So far all I’ve ever done on this site is read the posts/ articles and last week I decided its time to actually sign up. What I can say though is that you have some great articles on this site and brilliant writers. The other great point is that I’ve had no issues reading your site from my blackberry and that is what really makes me happy. It’s great to be able to read a quick review while waiting for class to start and to keep track of the games I'm interested in.
Odds are I'm not gonna win since I don’t have a history with you guys but screw it, you guys have a great website up catering to a South African audience and if anything this forum is a testament to the work you've put. So thanks for the past year of awesome reads and I'm looking forward to many more years of entertainment.

I joined to see what it was all about after doing some research on gaming communities. I like the news and posts and thats what keeps me coming back

I honestly can't remember why I joined. SO long ago and don't recall a specific reason.

I do however know why I've stayed. And that is simply down to a trully terific site with great stories and an incredibly interesting and lively forum. Love the banter and chat and even the odd tiff that gets started. I mean, just look at the reaction some of Taryn's stories get. What's not to love? Her best advice given? The article about gaming whilst cycling on an excercise bike! BRILLIANT idea. Then the image of the day. Always good for a laugh and some internal reflections from Juice's posts. What about the hardware section? Always some geek or nerd around to offer advice or a link to a site. Ah, then the bane of my MyGaming existence, the Steam specials thread. Damn, but that has cost me some moolah! HAHAHA!

I also remember the year a few of us even ran a Secret Santa via Steam. Yes, everyone who wanted in, threw their name in a hat and I drew names and everyone bought a Steam game under $5 for another. Was fun and just shows what really great folks we have as members here.

Oh, and the comps don't hurt either... :D
