The loneliness of the internets had begun to consume me, and the lack of a real local community seemed none existent at the time. But then some how I found MyG and after a bit of lurking I joined up and the competitions was a very nice bonus. 3 years in and look at the results that the DMMA/Effective Measure provided. Will stay because I believe the site will grow even bigger still, and it kills a lot of bored times at work.

2) mygaming is the better part of gaming and community. Sure there are some planks here too but all sites have them.

3) and of course the initiation of the now about dorment steam thread.

The competitions drew me in, the content made me stay. Now I catch up on gaming news (sneakily at work) and at times join heated forum debates with my own 2 cents! What I like is that we are not censored and everyone is more or less of the same mindset, with a few oddballs thrown in here and there!
 
I joined for a PS3 comp lol ... but really come back day after day cause I am a gamer and I like interacting with people that share my passion for games.
Very relaxed bunch of guys on here compared to other Forum sites , and not everyone takes themselves serious.
Plus every now and again there is a chance to win a cool prize.
 
I to joined for the comps :) now I use MyBB less and mygaming more as the news on Mygaming is more related to what i want to know about. Keep up the good work guys :)
 
I first visited MyGaming because I was looking for concise and professional (read well-edited) local gaming news (something that Lazygamer does not offer, sorry Lazygamer). I found MyGaming and I haven't looked back. I continue to visit the site because there are always interesting things to read spanning from games to technology and of course for the local South African flavour.
 
Great source of information, reading the MyGaming and MyBroadband articles that gets posted.
For info and help from other gamers, helping to make decisions on certain software and hardware that I might be interested in.
For all the comptitions on offer!
 
I joined MyGaming on a different account when it was just created by rpm but later made this account because this is the Username i use for gaming.

Slowly but surely i saw people joining MyGaming from MyBroadband and even some people i only get to meet in game.

The reason i still use MyGaming is for the News from time to time and the awesome gaming community over here,the mods here do their best and trolling and hate on this forum is pretty much none existent.Another reason would be that most people i know in-game also use MyGaming and everyone here is pretty well behaved and follow the rules.

I'll keep using Mygaming until i either die of old age,MyGaming shuts down or when i no longer have an interest in gaming (hopefully none of those will come true,Eternal life XD)

I'm personally not a hectic gamer, but my fiance is and I like to surprise him with the latest games. So, this is my reason. :)
 
I had been a long term user of the mybroadband forum. It was a locally driven forum that I allowed me to interactive with people who could understand my points of departure. For eg, Having a 384kb adsl in 2012.

I had always been a gamer. All my life. However I was not aware of a South African gaming forum and website. When I came across Mygaming on the MyBB website its as if I go what I was always looking for. A local place with guys all of the country interacting and helping each other out. From figuring out how to deal with 3G internet connections on xbox live or the latest ps3 special at makro or game. Or even just talking about an upcoming game. Mygaming became my fav local gaming site and forum. I might not always post new threads but I always read and keep up to date with the site. Having MyGaming on twitter compliments this.
 
I joined a long long time ago, at the time I was looking for a place to discuss games, new ones, old ones and then somehow or other stumbled upon the Guess the game thread :-), I've not done a lot of posting on here, I am more of a browser here, cause a lot of the threads are interesting reads, the problems have already been solved or well I am too lazy and would just prefer to browse :-).
 
Started lurking from the early days. Main thing that kept me coming back was Taryns articles making fun of any and everyone. Stayed since because articles are mostly from a SA perspective, and although I don't post often reading through the forums about games from a players perspective is always nice.
 
I joined mygaming because my boyfriend is constantly on this site when at work. I need to know what sites he goes on and what they are all about :)
He told me about all the fancy prizes that can be won here and I thought well if I can win something here then it would be a really nice gift to him.
Also I have got some very interesting and helpful answers to some questions that I have been pondering about and have come to trust this place for a valuable source of information when I need it.
 
It all began on a dark and gloomy night... :D
When one of my friends told me about all these awesome updates about the latest gaming news he gets I couldn't help but ask him why he was so knowledgeable. So I asked him where he heard about these things and he told me it was on a site called MyGaming.

At first I was a bit hesitant to take a look at it but as soon as I got started I just couldn't stop, the site had a feel to it that really stuck to me. So I joined the forum and got involved. The news is solid and the comments and posts on the forums are also very enlightening. I like to find out what opinions people have about the latest games as well as give my own.

It's a very comfortable site to be a part of and it still continues to impress me :)
 
At first, I was a MyBroadBand member... but then I saw the link to the MyGaming website on their webpage. Well, I'll just say that I most definitely prefer MyGaming to the MyBroadband sister site cause you guys are way cooler and more in-tune to my interests than those guys are lol. Also, those guys aren't that open to newcomers ... well for me at least.
But ya, this site is Hella cool and all and I enjoy the articles, Especially Tarryn's articles (yes I said it) I think she deserves the raise she's been asking for (Am I allowed to say this???) Ah well, nevermind. Enough rambling.
Congrats on being SA's #1 gaming news website!
 
I used to be avid poster on MyBroadband mostly for the gaming sub forum. When they made MyGaming I eventually made the move to MyGaming and what a great idea it was. I continue to visit because it's very active and up to date with news and reviews always hitting me in my face. Not to mention a great community and epic competitions. Then theres the fact that it's all local... gotta love it.
