*WINNERS ANNOUNCED* LG sound system and Gunnar gaming glasses with MyGaming

Well it's not always TK posters that end in the top 5 :p but maybe there should be a system perhaps like jacaranda :p sya you won something in this competition your not eligible for the next one only the one after that again (don't get me wrong i'm not complaining)

But to give some others a fair chance and to stop the whole TK posters always win debacle

on the other hand That is one nice looking and sounding system my cousin has one and it really pumps for something that small.

That sort of system does exist. For similar prizes though. So if you win one console you can't enter for the next.

Stopped entering these activity competitions since it took too much time to stay in 25.

Impossible unless you stop posting.

Lol these contests are like Dota. In Dota Supports win games; in MyGaming TK wins stuff :p

It does. I've tried many times to suggest that it be removed but to no avail... :/
TK is the MAIN reason the same 25 people get entries each and every time. With minimal participation in other thread discussions.
It's bullshit if you ask me.

I barely post in the tk. Its not that hard to be in the top 25. I havent won any activity contests.

Everyone will moan about something. If its not the activity rules and its completely random then people complain about some random winning.

Its free stuff there is no point in complaining if you win you win if you don't you don't its not like you losing anything anway, you not paying to be in a comp.

Hey look! Another activity competition! Complete with the prerequisite complaining about how unfair it is to be expected to put a little effort into winning something by (among others) numbers 4 and 14 in the current activity comp. Not entirely sure, but I think this qualifies as irony?

I have a few questions for all the moaners:
1. Have you lot seen the complaining over at MyBB about their competitions? Over there, anybody registered on the forum can enter by clicking on a banner and posting in the competition thread. So you get a load of entries from accounts who only post in the competition threads. The problem is that some of these accounts are suspected to be clone accounts: people with more than one account that use them to cheat in comps by getting more entries. Don't you think the same will happen here? Or is that the reason you complain? You want voting comps so that you can call on your army of clones and cheat your way into winning?
2. Do you lot even bother reading the forums? I have explained on more than one occasion how little effort it takes to actually make it into the top 25. But still the moaning continues. I suspect that the only thing the moaners ever do is pop in to see if there is a voting comp running and then pop out. It is obvious that you don't read the forums, so don't you think it is safe to assume you don't bother reading the articles either and your only reason for existing on these forums are to try and win competitions?
3. Have you bothered checking the leaderboard in the activity comps? Of course not. That would mean "effort" on your part. But if you did, you'd see that more than half of the top 25 consists of people who doesn't post in TK.
4. Do you read the rules? You do realize that #1 gets just as many entries into a comp as #25, right? Because the way you are carrying on, you would think that the comp winners are determined by weighted average or something.

I am so sick and tired of self righteous little twits that call fellow forumites "spammers" and other names just because they make an effort to keep this forum alive, yet they never report anybody for spamming because it would mean "effort". Grow up. You may have been told your mere existence entitles your pampered asses to whatever you want in life. This is not true. Get over it. If you want a lucky draw, go buy raffle tickets. If you want to contribute to the forum (in any thread you want), thank you and good luck.

Can't rep, but very well put!

I wrote a bla blah speech about community and reasons for the compo's etc etc etc again, but i deleted it.

If you don't have the time to remain in the top 25 then so be it, its not any other users fault or Mygaming.

drama dram snot en trane

Well, as you all can see, I am never in the top 25 by my join date and total number of posts, but I have to agree that the Top 25 method is still probably the easiest and most fair way to run these competitions. This is the same conclusion that I assume MyG has come to. It would be more fair if TK was excluded, but apparently that's not possible. Additionally, some less frequent posters contribute to the forum in other ways (like giveaways and stuff - again, I'm not saying I'm one of them, just an observation), and there are a few forumites that post a lot of quality content. A small number do both.

It's not a trivial task to put a measure on how much one is contributing to the forums, and ultimately the aim of these competitions is to increase forum activity to increase MyG's exposure and further increase their attractiveness to advertisers (I guess). The more attractive MyG is to advertisers, the more competitions there will be as a result of promotions etc. The simplest way for MyG to put a metric to forum contribution level is through quantity of posts.

It sucks for lurkers (myself included), but overall it's the best way of doing it.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Someone please give that man a bells a bottle of ricki louw and a rep coz I can't.

Any reason why my posts in my own topic don't count they should seeing as they dropped thread points to 2 from 10.

On what do you base this assumption? You get equal points for creating threads and making posts.

cause you only get 2 and any further points in thread give 0 should be getting more than 2 for thread creation or the posts inside should count.

Doesn't give an incentive to post new fun/gaming threads and rather just post in current ones.

Why do you need an incentive? Post new interesting threads regardless I say.
