*WINNERS ANNOUNCED* Win 3 sets of 8GB AMD DDR3 gaming RAM with AMD SA

The first AMD product that I bought was the HD4850 graphics card. It was awesome value for money and ran all the latest games on the highest settings. It's still being used today and works great :).

Also got an ATI HD6630m in my laptop and the performance is quite impressive.

AMD Graphics > NVidia Graphics
but
AMD CPUs < Intel CPUs
:p
...or this is what I have always preferred.

I've always been an AMD fan, my first "real" pc was an AMD 700, and it was AWESOME, had it for almost 5 years before I had to upgrade. the 700 was replaced by a 64bit 1800+, had that one for another 4 years. but since then, I'm ashamed to say, I have using intel, not by choice, but by default, since my last 3 upgrades were free trades. but sure as bananas are yellow, when I got the bucks I WILL be getting myself an FX-series X8 :D

I've always liked AMD, so take all this with a helping of salt.

My last two chipsets were AMD, both Gigabyte boards; these were both incredible. The stability, versatility and raw power I got was a lot of fun. With the last box, I got my first quad core. Coming from a dual core and working with CPU intensive problems (CFD, FEM and CAD, with meshing code written in Matlab), the quad core was an incredible experience. With the quad core, I also switched back to and ATI card, the 5850. The card is still running strong, with very little signs of aging; I'm guessing I'll only have to upgrade when the 8xxx series comes out! My next box will definitely be an AMD board and card combo.

My fanboyism comes from my great experience with AMD products, and Intel fanboys can try their hardest to convince me otherwise, but they won't.

I have been an AMD geek/junkie/fanboi/slut? for the last 13 years. I love my AMD CPU's, I love my AMD(ATI) GPU. And I am going AMD again this year end when I am doing my upgrade.

They have been stable for me, and I prefer AMD for my gaming rigs.

AMD = WIN

Love amd got a tripple core, games work brilliantly, need more ram, should have got amd long time ago,the best in gaming,video,e.c.t

My old AMD 3000+ was a really good chip and kept me going for some time. Currently I have opted not to get the AMD cpu and go with intel purely because the i5 2500k is such a boss chip!

Still running my 6850 AMD card, it runs wonderfully !!!!

I have always been a fan of AMD, as my brothers introduced me to them back in the days of Half Life 1. Amd for me has always been more power for your cash, and I have never had any issues with it.

I need more RAM, and the AMD RAM should complete my BF3 rig :D.

I've been using AMD equipment for over 7 years and I have never had a problem with them. They make some of the best products in terms of price as well as reliability. Their items are really what you can call, value for money.

My First AMD product is the Sapphire Vapor-X HD 6850 and definitely by far the best investment ever, I now all I want is a machine complete with AMD products.

I must thank spooner for the help in getting my GPU.

I have an AMD GPU
A Mobo that supports Core series chips
In current need of DDR3 Ram
In need of a Core i5 chip to complete the upgrade. :)

EDIT: I have apparently forgotten my 5670, Sorry Dohc!! I know it's Blasphemy :o

My PC life span has been this.

Intel
AMD
AMD
AMD
Intel

Now this shows that for a extensive period of my adult life I have preferred to go with AMD, at that stage it was more BANG for mah Buck and I think that still holds true with a number of their products. I'm currently running an Intel chipset by have a AMD Gfx card.

I've personally preferred AMD as I always viewed them as the underdog providing different products to the markets and products that provided more choice at the time than Intel could ever have. For this reason I have a AMD light burning in me that will always highlight AMD over Intel.

I think it also boils down to cost to befit ratio for a very long time and still to this day AMD is competitively positioned! So in short cost effective solutions and products that provide the beef they intend to!

To Be Honest havent had a AMD product yet :/ only a ATi card baaaaaaaaaaaack in the day before they became AMD :)

My first ever graphics card was an nVIDIA card and have since owned 2 AMD cards that did not disappoint.

The value for money AMD brings to the table can't be beat. With a wider selection of cards catering for a variety of buyers needs and budget, AMD for me is a no-brainer when it comes to processing units.

When it was time for an upgrade about a year ago, i was trying to avoid getting a AMD graphics card for as long as possible. Due to funds, however, I decided on getting a HD6870 and havn't since regretted it. I will surely be getting an ATI card again when a upgrade is required.

I have one of the new 8 core FX chips, which I chose over the intel counter parts for one reason: 3D rendering. So far, it has proved to be great. The name "bulldozer" is really actually true, because the amount of raw processing these things are capable of is phenomenal! And coupled with some extra ram, my Animation course will go along much more smoothly with a PC that can handle Maya's demands :)

Ok, so mostly on this forum the comments have been from positive to AMD fanboy Nirvana. So maybe a slightly different point of view.

The way I see AMD is as the equaliser. They're the company that's trying to keep Nvidia/Intel in check. They're the ones that are preventing them from monopolising the gaming hardware market and being allowed to charge basically whatever they want.

It's important for me to say that my favourite all time gaming rig I built was based on the old AMD Athlon XP 3000+ chip. That was many MANY years ago and since then I have really not had any reason to buy back into the AMD CPU's. My buying is based a lot on reading online reviews and rating charts and then weighing that up to price/value. AMD, when it comes to the CPU market seems to have fallen away. The bulldozer was a giant mistake and I couldnt understand just about anyone buying it over the X6. Also everyone here seems to be happy with stability but I have read a number of reports of instability issues.

However, obviously the GPU market is alot different. Here AMD competes excellently, often one-upping Nvidia at even a cheaper price point. My current card is a 4850. Bought for exactly the above reasons. Equal power, cheaper price. However, I've found my 4850 to burn hotter than the surface of the sun. I've cleaned it and done everything you can imagine, and quite simply, if the millions of hits you get on google are anything to go by, the card is simply prone to overheating. It's also an Asus by the way so no-one can say I bought into a cheap make.

So now that I find myself looking to upgrade, the side of me that loves to support the underdog, desperately wants to rebuild my glorified AMD beast. I just can't bring myself to look passed Sandybridge CPUs and Nvidia 560 gfx range.

To summarise:
AMD is a dream for me. A hope that they will get back on the right path and really start to deliver they awesome CPUs i remember. I wish that they will dominite the cr*p out of Intel because no-one likes a market bully. I also think their GFx cards are great. But my current 4850 has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. By all accounts this overheating issue was known prior to the release of the card. However, I may just have gotten the lemon and I certainly wouldn't knock their GFx card range.

AMD GPU's are teh best!

Although their CPU's leave a lot to be desired. There's no point in having an 8 core CPU when majority of the applications don't even utilize 4 cores properly.

My first PC

I got was many many years ago it was mostly Intel with a nvidia gfx card.
Today my PC is a solid AMD build, What I find with AMD is the performance and the passion the designers take on these products.
I really do enjoy the way they put cost in the same line with quality, Having quality in all products to me and to be passionate about it is way more meaningful to me.
