No, Morrowind is timeless and has been brought up to date with a plethora of visual mods. It offers the most immersive and exciting experience of all the elder scrolls. I think people just haven't experienced it in its full glory.

As a ye olde gamer who has played it all. I hated Morrowind. Worst excuse for an "RPG" ever. Unfortunately, Bethesda have never made a good RPG and the closest to one that they've published was made by Obsidian: New Vegas.

The Elder Scrolls series makes for great open-world adventures but their class system is vile, there is often zero real choice and nothing that really makes it a recommendable "role-playing game."

Good for adventure and dungeon-crawling, terrible for story, depth and memorability.

I don't care what you want to call Morrowind, it's one of my favourite games and it is the best of the Elder Scrolls series.
Sure, maybe it's not an 'RPG' as you define it, but who cares what it is when you are having immense fun.

Of course this is all my opinion and if you don't like it then I can't force you too :P

Sure, I'm glad you enjoy it :)

But I struggle to think of it is a particularly good game, however you look at it. In that regard I feel Skyrim has been "the best" so far, but even that, to me, feels like a hollow experience.
 
I can understand people voting for Skyrim over Morrowind (heathens), but Oblivion? Come on. Oblivion is hands down not only the worst Elder Scrolls games, but one of the worst games I've played.

Yeah, Oblivion was godawful... :/

Not to mention the character models... Argh... good gaming gods...

I am lank excited for this. I really want to replay Morrowind and start Skyrim with some epic mods installed. I even started downloading some. Now that is faith for you right there. :)

That in itself, I didn't mind. What I did mind was that to make it sound like more, they altered the pitch of the voice, either deeper, or higher. Unfortunately, the pitch shift affected all other media on your pc, like winamp.. That made playing music in the background impossible. Also, if the game was to crash, the last pitch shift would stay affected, so everything from there on out was shifted..

Creative solution to their problem, but hella annoying in the end.
 
Oblivion was prettier than Skyrim but I much preferred Skyrim's combat. Without oscuro's in Oblivion I ended up turning lvl 1 wolves into pin cushions before they died. :P
