Is logitech still the best with all 3 and whats the best for under R400 for each of them?

Wanting to move my laptop off the coffee table when I get my new 32" TV so thats why I am thinking of wireless if the cables dont reach the laptop.

I have a Logitech wireless combo. It's excellent, think it cost R600 or something. Well worth it.

Cool is it available in walk-in shops and whats the model name? How long does the battery last if I use both everyday?

It's the S510. Bought it a couple of years ago from Game / Makro. But yes, from a walk in shop.
I'm a Programmer / 3D Animator / Gamer and the batteries last months. Range is pretty good (not great), and most importantly, it's quite comfortable.

There might be a newer version of this. Just browse about on their website.

Looks very nice and I love comfort more than anything else then looks and will use it for Gaming and Data Analysis (Graphs etc.) :D

Did not think the batteries would last that long so it doesnt have the downfall of running out of steam fast :p

Don't you have sync issues with wireless? I've had several Microsoft wireless keyboards and mice over the years and have never found one that worked properly.
I could do with a proper wireless kb+m for something I want to try with my tv. How good is the range on those things exactly?

Sync issues? No idea what that is, so I'm guessing no.
Originally I bought the set because I needed a new set and needed something to play Frets on Fire with. This is one of the few keyboards that can handle multi-keypresses.

The range is fair, but you may have to point the receiver a little as it doesn't work too well through my desk or any other objects.

I presume it will work fine with a glass cabinet and is it a usb transceiver? Will be nice to use the multi-keypresses for my games and the range is 1m from my cabinet so should be respectable right?

I suppose pairing would be a better word. With the MS devices, I had to press a button to pair with the usb device, but that didn't really work well. Sometimes I struggle to find the signal, other times it lost it while working, etc.

Is it the same way as using bluetooth to connect a phone to the PC cause I never had problems with that so maybe the USB device was buggy or the software.

I've recently gotten the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard & Mouse 800 combo to replace my Logitech EX100 set. The keys are nice, the keyboard overall nice and comfortable to type on and the rubber feet on the bottom of the thing are great compared to the eraser-like things on the EX100 that tore apart.

The problem with the keyboard is that it has no spacing nor way to discern where the keys end and begin between the backspace+\ and insert+delete keys. Or the pageup+pagedwn and numlock+numpad7 keys. Or where the F row ends, where the F5-8 row is, where the F12 key is with the calculator button next to it...

In other words, navigating it by feeling takes LOT of getting used to. I've simply put some masking tape strips onto the backspace/enter/delete/calculator/pause(which I use as my media 'stop' button)/play+pause buttons. And left/right arrows, which are also right next to ctrl and insert...

It otherwise really is a nice keyboard though. Gave me a ~25% boost in typing speed over the EX100, which was until now my best typer.

I don't use its mouse, though - use a Logitech G700 for that. I also don't use it for gaming if I can help it, use a Logitech G13 for that. Unlike the Logitech EX100, this keyboard doesn't lock up if you hold shift+S+D, though - I haven't gotten it to lock up with any key combination I'd use in an FPS at the WASD keys yet. The software lets you disable the windows key whenever a fullscreen app is running, if you're the kind of person that needs that.

If I understand what you saying about the keys both my laptop keyboard and one I am using have keys like that all together with barely any spacing so use to layouts like that.

Going to check both out in the mall hopefully they have them in stock so I can try them out.

Never saw the logitech keyboard foozball recommended in the shops but saw the mircrosoft one want to try other shops to see if they have the logitech one so I can compare them :p

Thanks think I saw the 520 will check again in the shops pretty sure I did

It's about R600. Not bad for a decent combo. Looks like it has the same basic shape as mine. The palm-rest area is quite important. The other models don't have the wide bottom.

I, for one, despise keyboards with large 'palm rests' that aren't removable. I was originally concerned this Microsoft keyboard's one would be too large for my liking, and while it's kind of annoying at times, it's just small enough and flat enough that it doesn't get in the way much.

Then again, I use a wireless keyboard and mouse a lot from bed, where my arms may be down at my sides with the keyboard resting on my upper thighs, like it's doing now - so the longer that 'palm rest' the more difficult it is for me to reach over that front lip of the keyboard to the keys.

I also dont use palm rests cause I use the table to rest my hand on while typing or playing so its not important to me.

Although I use the table to rest arms on, the palm rest on my K350 is still useful and comfortable.

Not sure if I would get use to a palm rest since I never even rested on my laptop also which has space for it, since it feels uncomfortable to me and usually my hands are in the air anyway if they arent they under my blanket when its cold :D
