Wolfenstein 3D

back in the day BW (before windows) this was the game I played for hours having to use Dos to access the game. I had it on a 5 and a half inch floppy. And i played it on my dads 286 pc with 8kb ram.
I'm not sure but i think this was one of the first fps games on the pc.

I remember for some reason at my dads work they had it on one of their pcs.
I loved it to bits. But I only ever got to play the shareware version :(

Was pretty addicted to this game. I remember spamming spacebar while running in a line down the walls to find secret compartments lol. As for interesting info about the game, the game was very nazi heavy, and was banned in Germany for such content (not surprising). Here are 2 old gems I remember, in episode 3 there's a secret level that makes you play pacman in first person mode. In the same episode the music also changes and has an easter egg that has morse code that read "To Big Bad Wolf. De Little Red Riding Hood. Eliminate Hitler. Imperative. Complete mission within 24 hours. Out."

Absolutely. I remember strafe walking across pretty much every wall trying to find all the hidden passages. I HATED not having found everything. And finding those secret rooms was freaking awesome. Totally worth the hours and hours of time spent on the game.
I remember the mass of Nazi content, it was just all over the game. Back then I really didn't mind or actively notice being so young, but sheesh, thinking back now it was crazy.

Oh man, Wolfenstein 3D was awesome, and a landmark game in it's day. Ya there was a lot of nazi content, but in those days, nazi's were the generic bad guys. Since then it's shifted to Russians and middle eastern terrorists.

EDIT: I posted this somewhere the other day, but is seems relevant, someone made a game called Wolfenstein 1D.

Me and a few friends had a "no-pay-no-play consortium". Each month we would select and buy a game. One person would get the box and manual, the others was allowed to "borrow" the game from time to time. Actually, until we found a crack or somehow bypass copy protection.

Visited one of the friends. "I want to show you something, but you are not allowed to tell anyone else..."

Wolfenstein 3D.

He got a copy from a friend and he was not allowed to tell...

Short visit... Had to get home with the new loot...

Never played this version of Wolfenstein, but...

I have Wolfenstein TwentyOhNine(2009), and I love it.

Wow, played a couple of stages, brought back some good memories. I went straight back into the new room, have to run along all the walls spamming space bar, and found a few secret rooms.

+1 rep for prophet for the link
ditto on all of the above, LOL
