ditto what Vampothic said I have played the old Wolfenstein game, just thought with the new title they would spice it up a bit instead of using the same nazi theme again.

Nazis is actually what the game is obviously based off of, or on (so it'll obvious still stick to its roots)... but, I understand what you're saying - add another element to the game, other constantly killing Nazis.
 
Just realised its D-Day today when they elimanated the Nazis :p

Then you might as well play Doom. Otherwise it would just be Hellboy: The Videogame (even though there all ready is such a thing). :)

They are, sort of. The nazis have mechs now.

I did play Doom, loved it but havent played Doom 3 yet.

I finished it again about 2 or so months ago, then started playing Resurrection of Evil.
Haven't finished it though. Plus I still have another expansion to play and complete as well named The Lost Mission or something.

I'm playing Doom 3 BFG Edition.
Only changes I've noticed are: menu looks different. Widescreen support and motion blur, I think.
I got it mainly to play and finish it, and play the expansions.

Wolfenstein is about nazis and always has been. Wishing they'd change that is like wishing Blizzard will change Starcraft to be about something other than aliens.
