I agree. Nazis make the Wolfenstein franchise what it is. It's the key ingredient. There's only so much you can change, because if you make it too radically different, it might as well be a different game entirely.
Throughout the series, there have been characters other than nazis that you come across, like dogs, zombies, undead experiments, and now you have mechs. But they're all tied together in some way; they still fall under the same banner.
I'm not saying you couldn't have demons, but there would have to be a very plausible reason for having them in there. Not just because you can. Because demons -- that's Doom territory there after all.
