Hi guys and gals
I am urgently looking for an ASP.NET / MVC / C# / T-SQL / jQuery developer to work at one of my clients in the Faerie Glen area in Pretoria (or Tshwane, whatever your preference is). If you are interested or have any leads for me to follow up, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'd prefer someone with around 2-3 years experience, but if you understand web development and how a browser interacts with the server and are comfortable learning quickly on the job, then you can fit in as well.
The role is simple: you will be the full-stack, hero developer at the client, responsible for maintaining and expanding an existing CRM-like system that's already in place. Expect a fair bit of interaction with the project team there, including weekly sprint planning meetings and a daily scrum meeting with our project manager on site there. The environment is very laid back and relaxed and they often have fun theme days. The client, being in the medical space, is big on wellness and happiness and all those things, so all our resources that have worked there are generally friendly people.
The client just renewed the contract and we had to move the current resource to another project. The resource we earmarked for this client was just confirmed to be entrenched at our biggest client, with them happy to have him on the project team and unwilling to let him go. I'm approaching the MyG community for their interest and inputs first, because I know I can trust most of the people here. Either that, or I'm just a bit naive.
My last option is to resort to a recruitment agent, because then it becomes very impersonal (and expensive).
So, I know there are loads of you out there that would like to join a young, innovative and highly talented company of professional software engineers, most of whom have a strong preference to gaming culture. There are the sports fanatics as well, but they aren't mutually exclusive to the former group. We all look out for one another's best interests and you'll always have the backing of the team, including myself, to help you with problems you're facing at the client. Oh, you'll also be able to work with our awesome Handlr framework and be exposed to a wide range of technologies and programming languages, including C#, Java, Node.js, Go, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Angular and pure, good old JavaScript.
Unfortunately this role will be based primarily on site at the client, but we'll discuss options for telecommuting with the client as well. Even then you'll still have to be on site at least 2-3 times a week to attend project meetings, discuss requirements, dress up in your slippers and eat the free food they often supply to staff and contractors.
C'mon, I know you're itching to hit that PM button... So send away!
PS. The company you'll officially be working for is in my signature. I'm half owner of the company, if you were wondering, so resources, tech and so on are my mandate. Note that the website is quite outdated (last updated in Jan 2015), but a complete revamp is in progress to give an indication of the stuff we've been busy with the past year.
