World Clock

Resident Panty Kicker
So after I read Solitude's remark on the WoW stats forum:

I wonder how many other stats they have that they aren't giving to the public.

ie This many people has been idling for this long.

All kinds of stuff like that. Stats are fun.

I figured this post deserved it's own forum as it would undoubtedly derail the WoW thread entirely...

So here it is:

World Statistics for 2009 that will blow your mind ... if you click on the "now" button in the top right it re-initializes the numbers to 0 and you can see how they increase from the time you pressed it, etc.

Thats very interesting. Maplassie, I am sure the figures are not 100% accurate, but it is probably calculating it off of overages over the past number of years, and how the averages increase over time.

Very interesting to watch though... and if the statistics are more or less correct, then its worth looking at again.

Yeah its obviously based on figures they release on all the subjects he has in there. Like eg in 2008 there were a total of 100 000 000 car accidents for instance (no its not the actual figure just an example) then simple maths can get it down to car accidents per hour/ minute / second and then added to the clock.

Pretty damn scary though if you think about it. Nice find Voicy thanks.

On the site above the spinning globe it states:

The figures on this clock are approximation based on past stats and estimates. They are calculated from the beginning of the selected time period unti the current time.

Anyone try the Life Expectancy calculator on there? My Virtual age is very low, I suppose because of my pristine health :D

Life expectancy to 87 or something. That's pretty old by modern averages.

Interesting. It puts things into perspective.
The rate of abortions are rather close to the rate of births......
Hectic.
