World of Warcraft - General Discussion

The attunement quests were also fun for the most part, though finding groups for the BRD part of the Ony chain was a severe pain in the ass at times. The Black Morass event for Kara attunement was also a beast pre-nerf, come to think of it. But at the end of the day, you ended up with a nice shiny key that you'd worked for, and felt some sort of accomplishment for having done it.

The Kara key-chain quest was definitely a nice feeling...but it was awesomely cool being a rogue and just picking the kara lock before I had the key. No waiting outside until someone comes and opens up for you.

The only sucky thing was that in TBC there weren't enough proper players on a low pop server to progress properly. Thus resulting in most of us being stuck in Kara with tastes of Jul'aman before wotlk hit. :(

So with my friend over this weekend, I've been wrestling with the idea of getting back in

My warrior still needs his 4/5 T10, and my dr00d on SSC needs leveling :p

This game should be renamed Hotel California :(

Yes, but only once you've finished the Guild Wars campaigns. :p

Haha! Yeah I totally stole it from your post on Mybb :p

Was waiting for you to catch the reference

/sigh, I need the GW client again :(

I would like to play WOW is there a way to play for free or a trail and what about updates???

You can sign up for a week's trial on the official site. There is also a trial version of the game to download there, but I know one of the guys on MyBB has had trouble with it.

The best option is to copy the game from someone else. That way, you'll have the full game with the latest updates, which saves you a couple of gigs worth of downloads.

Agreed try and get the full client before getting the trial, you don't want to start your 10day trial and spent 3-4 days patching

Hahaha ...
Thats exactly how I feel !

You can check out any time you like but you can never leave !

Strangely , everytime i listen to that song , I think of Diablo "Stabbing with their steel and knives but they just cant kill the beast" (Not unlike a raid that keeps wiping)

das has returned to land of azeroth as account is live and activated :)

now i must get my fookin dsl activated over my telkom line :mad:. sigh

Im debating on playing again.
I really had a blast on wow.
I have two 80s and some 60-70s on two accounts in the US.
I thought about re-rolling on the EU Servers.
OR
LOTRO - I know there are some fanbois so don't spaz out on me.
I need to try LOTRO - Main reason is ping. I hate playing wow with a bad ping (PVP Fail) - LOTRO I wont care.

I've been playing Official WoW for a while now (again.) I'm actually really enjoying it. I love the PvE aspect, but I think PvP has gone to shit to be honest. Too much reliance on gear. In TBC a skilled greenie could at least kill a retarded player with good gear, it's not quite the same in WoTLK. There's a difference of about 20,000 HP, 100% damage dealt and taken, all that.

I'm trying to build up a PvP set to do arenas though, I think that could still be fun, but I really hate level 80 BGs now. 79 was awesome, Battlegrounds were fun as hell.

Is anyone here on Karazhan? Quite a few South Africans there.

I've been playing wow for a few years now and i love it! Quite an addictive game. I have 3 lvl 80's my mage being my main and im pure horde. I am in a raiding guild called Total Anarchy with a few South Africans in it. We've been raiding icc for some time now bt we havn't downed the LK yet :(

I recently got uncapped net from mweb, was great at first but my lagg has just gotten worse by the day hmm so much for uncapped net, but luckily I'm still able to raid icc at night. Looking forward to Cataclysm. Planning on lvlin a gobblin shaman. Wow! never knew there were so many South Africans playing this game.

Anyone here from Dreanor (major lagg server)?

Just throwing it out there but if anyone playing Alliance is keen to jol with some SAffers, we are a mid-sized group playing on Lightnings Blade. We all transferred off Syl(fail)(lag)vanas. About 10 South Africans and 5 or so Europeans are the core 10man raiding group and we are casual-ish but making good progress (6 down in ICC with 2 very casual raiding schedule).

Gimme a shout if interested.

No alliance in this thread (I typed this in caps but apparently it auto-fixes :( )

T'sek Vaalie!

I <3 my Nelf rogue. I haven't bothered with any alts over 2 years. But yeah, Alliance can be a bunch of pansies at the best of times. If you love losing BG's and WG, join Alliance now! :D

If Blizzard put up free faction changing, I would consider, but instead of looking at it from a "LUL ALIANZE IZ GHEI!" perspective as most people do, think about having to reroll all of your 80's to Horde.

When you choose your faction in the beginning, you don't know what the implications will be in 7 playdays time man.
And in my opinion it makes no sense whatsoever starting on a new realm, from scratch and leaving 3 80's with JC/Alchemy/Engineering/Enchanting etc maxed and about 20k gold to rot, purely so I can look at toons with green skin and a "I'm badass" attitude.

That being said, Voicy is right, on some battlegroups (particularly mine : Rampage/Saccage) alliance get steamrolled and horde have about 30 glads in their battlegroup. Makes for challenging times trying to get ONE win.

I've played Alliance since starting WoW about 2 years ago. One of the reasons that I never really played Horde is because leveling is a pain for me, especially the vanilla content. My main alt is now 78, and I started that character about 6 months ago. With the changes coming in Cataclysm, I might just try again to level a Horde.

As for the whole BG thing, I think it might be to do with the UK battlegroups playing against the German battlegroups. On my realm Alliance get steamrolled with battlegrounds, but we win WG most of the time. Problem is that since I dont have a 80 Horde character, I can't really say how the BG's go for their side. Maybe they get steamrolled by german Alliance players the whole time.
