Xbone - Game Questions

There's a dedicated thread to PS4, why not now Xbone?!

I'll kick things off by showing this...

I have pre-ordered mine, how bout ya'll ?

Thanks Beo. Yes I've also pre-ordered Forza Horizon 2. It's looking so awesome, but I am mindful that the cars looks a bit more floaty than they should be. Will only be able to tell for sure after the launch of the game though.

Then I have bought Destiny as well, to compliment the two games you get with the Xbox One bundle. Will start downloading Forza 5 first tonight.

Yeah, I picked up Ryse as well as a second controller.

You could always download the Horizon 2 demo, afaik it's available.

Do it, you know you want to!

I still have a few reservations. Like the xbl membership doesn't seem like the same value as ps plus, and then bloodborne. Plus I have a ps vita which will be awesome with the ps4. And unlike you lucky people, I don't think I will be able to get both the next gen consoles.

Edit.

So now I am in the phase of watching youtube videos all day about both the systems [emoji4]

BeoTeK I know you own both platforms, how does forza compare to gt6?

Ok, are we talking about Forza4 (Xbox 360) or Forza 5 (Xbone), and Gran Turismo 6 is only on PS3 with Gran Turismo 7 coming to PS4 (not sure if/when).

But more to the point. They're both great in their own right. Depending on preference really. The best way I can find to separate them is as follows; Gran Turismo is more for the purists where Forza is more for the enthusiasts.

Both Forza and GT is racing simulators. The feel difference between the two is marginal at best, I would not describe any one of those two as arcade games.

Beo's description is almost spot on, with GT being for the purist due to the very large car collection and the unforgivable accuracy and realism of the stearing. Forza is for the enthusiast in that the steering and realism of the game can be tweaked to fit your playing style, but it definitely can be set to the same hard-core levels of GT.

So forza is more arcade vibes?

Ok, Forza Motorsport is designed to be a simulation. You can customize difficulty with things like flashbacks, assisted steering, assisted braking, ABS, traction control etc. You can also go as far as tuning your car, from tire pressures, to shocks and absorbers, even gear ratios etc.

Forza Horizon is the arcade version of Forza Motosport. Though it's more arcade like and damage can be set to visuals only. It still pertains the authenticity of all the cars and details. The tuning system has been brought across to Horizon 2 from Forza 5, but you don't have to fiddle with any of it. Think of Horizon as an upper-class version of NFS.

Here's a video of Gamestop playing the pre-release version. They give you a good inside look.

Here's a problem already, I have redeemed my codes for Forza and Fifa and begun downloading. I am currently installing Ryse. Those three games have taken a 1/4 of hard disk space already. From what's understand, no matter what game you get, it will be required to install it. And also, I hear you can't upgrade the disk at all.

Much like the PS4 all games need an install. AFAIK you can upgrade the HDD but I am not too sure if it voids the warranty or not.

Wow that's quite worrying. Will have to be careful in deciding which games I keep installed then.

Also, BeoTek, because I haven't even opened up my box yet, how is the download speed through the Xbox One compared to normal Steam downloads?

Hard to say, my Forza download still says installing, but Fifa got to 1% before I paused it to start Forza. Seems to max out my line speed, which is nice.

Well it says it's 40gb on the store page and requirements, so I'm guessing so.

Oh and Groot, my controller doesn't say Day One Edition, please check yours.

If you got the FIFA/FORZA bundle it's not a day one controller it was only the DANCE/FORZA bundle with the connect.

Dammit no mine also doesn't say Day One. I am really disappointed in that. Not sure why it doesn't have the day-one sticker on
