I think that MS did it some time last year. Can't post a link now as I'm capped. From what I remember they did something so that people could no longer save to the non-offical HDDs.

I have heard of this with unofficial memory cards, but never with hard drives.

Yeah ... the unofficial memory units get disabled.

Everyone I know who has "non-official" hdd's are still using it fine.

R852 is cheap .....................120GIG is R1200
