Xbox 360 and PS3 Are Just Very Crap PCs

Necuno

The Piper
...Jimquisition:

There was once a time when consoles had something that PCs didn't have. They were cheaper, easier to use, more convenient. They dominated the market because they dominated our need to be lazy and catered to. Then this generation happened.

The more one considers the value that the 360 and PS3 have for the end user, the less one is able to justify their existence. Outside of a handful of exclusive games, what edge do they have? What makes them a superior choice? Nothing, declares the Jimquisition. Nothing.

I like Jim, get off your troll high horse. I see you've been quite active reaping the newcomers again.

Besides if you feel so strongly about maybe share a counter argument instead of throwing your shit around. It is getting old.

This conversation has been had countless times and always go the same way: The PC guys show up calling Consoles shit, console guys hit back saying why consoles aren't shit, PC guys use "convincing" internet arguments to "prove" that consoles are indeed shit, console guys use compelling internet count-arguments. This continues for a few pages then everybody looses intrest and the thread died, 3 to 6 months down the line some newbie in need of 20 posts for a comp brings the thread back to from the ether with something along the lines of "PC RULEZ! LoLz." or "Consoles are like SOOO much better than PC" or something. I show up tell the noob off for spamming/trolling/resurrecting threads. Someone then proceeds develops a deep seeded need to tell me off and it all starts again.

I've said it many times (and I am sure there is someone with nothing better to do who can search through the 30K posts and find these posts) its all about personal preference, if you personally prefer playing on PC/Mac, good for you. If you, like me, prefer playing on console that is good also. And if you are so insecure about your own preference that you feel the need to get into "debates" on the internet into which one is "better" then... well I hope that makes you happy. I do not feel the need to justify my choice in Gaming Platform to anyone.

P.S If you take issue with my reaping please feel free to A) Report my Posts or B) De-rep them if it bugs you that much.

OMEGA FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!

lol

He'd have my vote!

Back on topic though...
I have a high end PC and a 360 and to be honest i enjoy them both for different reasons. Console is easier to just switch on and play from the comfort of a couch to be honest, though my PC still gets used more

Side stepping the argument a little, I'll say this; Consoles have definitely gotten closer to PCs over the years which has brought both good and bad aspects. Good would be online multiplayer, leaderboards, patches, digital distribution, friends, social features and a few more things. Bad I would say would be increasing reliance on installing software to either just play or play at a reasonable quality or level of performance, also probably the fact that consoles are getting more complicated and constantly requiring updates for both the system and the games which takes away a bit of the 'pick up and play' feel.

Calling them PCs however shows a severe lack of technical understanding to the point where such an opinion would be worthless. If consoles are PCs then so are handhelds and smartphones.

Funny how auto like was applied to Jim when he punted diablo 3's drm is kak and we must demand... Have to wonder how many just read title and replied.

For one would be cool if consoles could have been modular in some way. However I don't see that happening.

Now for those who got stuck at freshness or took the title to the knee, I'm quite fond of all 4 my platforms. It does however take little to rather reply than auto knee jerk.

Some personalities here need to pull imho ;)

You seem to be taking the fact the people aren't hanging on this dude's every word pretty seriously. In both replied the focus seem to be on "Jim" rather than the topic:

O.o I cant help but notice a distinct lack of counter argument from the one who suggest I make one instead of just "throwing my shit around".

Edit: Nice Ninja. What you are suggesting about consoles being modular would effectively turn them into these:

Alienware X51. i.e. an expensive gaming PC. It would subtract from, what for me, is the main pull of consoles. The need to constantly upgrade. Once you let people start sticking other stuff the same issues you have on PC will crop up on PC namely software clashing with a specific hardware configuration. Not to mention the inevitable debate about people wanting to stick a different OS on the machine to run "Homebrewed" software effectively breaking the console wide open for further piracy (yes I know piracy is as rampant on console as it is on PC.)

I've never understood the hate PC owners need to heap upon console gamers.

No sure what that is suppose to mean but I will respond thusly:

Okay then....
tappa is tapatalk a mobile forum connector. Sorry bout the ninja edit, but didn't think I wanted to start another reply so I just modified that one.

Can't you change the hard drive on an x-box?
I was thinking at least GPU, but then what is the point of a console. However if you was able to swap out or at least extend with another card, then it would be cool imho because of it being "able to keep up"

As I've said I like all 4 my platforms. Just linked the Jimquisition on my way out to work.

Agreed, the reason I have my x360 is for ease of use which is becoming less and less of a reality. However I'm making good use of the controller on my PC, but does that make my pc a console ? :D

What defines a pc? The ability to upgrade? if so then the xbox is already half pc since you can upgrade the hard drive.
