Xbox 360 and PS3 DLC market analysis

Good article. Really has become a pivotal part of owning a game. Stil a while to go tho; 3/4 of my friends with PS3s dont make use of the online functionality (thats when Sony is not offline off course)

DLC really is a great way of expanding on games. At the moment, I have some networking issues with my Xbox and storage space is also pretty low, but I have used this feature for a lot of games.

Some games are so good, that DLC's are welcomed as a means of expanding on the user's current game play experience. Others are so bad that DLC's are their only salvation.

I think if developers can keep building on this method and bring out good DLC's that are reasonably priced, this will keep growing.

I agree. I don't mind paying for DLC, especially when it extends the longevity of a game I really enjoy playing.

I personally think DLC should be more than 'just a map pack' or extra features. Something like extra missions makes the game much more enjoyable because of the fact that it will last longer. As long as there's enough content in DLC I really don't mind paying for it :)

You make a good point. A lot of little pieces of DLC are small and in no way extends the longevity of a game (sometimes they are really cool though). Would it make more sense to include these little add-ons to bigger and "extending" DLC's? I think so.

I love the idea of DLC, as long as it's not day one, or is charged at almost the same price as the game itself.
