Xbox 360 in UK

Howdy everyone.

Quick question, if I buy an Xbox 360 in the UK and I bring it back here, if I get a serious RROD and it needs to be replaced, will I be able to replace it here?

I am not a 100% but Im pretty sure it would have to be exchanged there.
 
When I bought my xbox the salesman at Look and listen basically said as soon as the product leaves the store its no longer their responsibility. If there was a defect or a RROD within the warranty period I should contact microsoft who will then give me further instructions. The till slip is obviously very important and should be accompanied with the console should it RROD, I doubt they will accept till slips from foreign vendors like hmv or game videostores in the uk. Maybe I'm wrong hopefully someone else can confirm.
 
I returned an RROD XBox for a an ex boss of mine that was bought in the US while he was staying in SA.

They send a box to package it in and it went to some eastern european country for reapirs, I forget the name.

So yes, it was covered but it took about 8 weeks to get back.
