wow....looks really well made :) wouldn't mind one of those. On a side note: is it legal to make that?
 
As stated in the article, the one in the pictures is currently up for sale on eBay and there are another two units going up for sale soon. Surely it can't be illegal?
 
Doubt its illegal. Microsoft isn't so bitchy about what their customers do the hardware they buy like Sony is. Basically its a 2nd hand item

Gotta love creators who are so innovative.

I don't play Xbox much (don't have one, nor much desire to have one), but those pictures a re making me pretty jealous right now!

I don't think it should be illegal (even if it was), it's inspiring creativity and the creators of stuff like this are the people that Microsoft and other technological companies should be hiring.
 
It looks pretty cool i must say, would be bad for a technicaly refresh minus the screen ofcourse thats purely for the mobility form.
 
Haha wow, really well done! Wonder how the battery life on it is? Would work great for mobility, especially for gaming like on a long road trip or something similar.
 
Oh my word...that's a dream come true :) I seriously want one of those things - I mean it's completely portable and would be absolutely ideal for LAN'ing purposes :D yes please!

The only thing I do not like it is that it kinda defeats the some of the best aspects of Console Gaming. I.e. Playing on a coach with some mates....

I hope the creator was clever enough to add an HDMI port to the laptop so that you could plug it straight into your HDTV
 
Hello guys I am The builder of this unit. I was looking around because i like to get gamer's opinions of my builds. I read some of the questions and comments and would like to answer them for you.
First it is legal 100% i made no changes to the stock MOBO or DVD or Hdd that does anything to violate Microsoft's copyright protection. All I did was put them it what amounts to a fancy case.
I had sitting on the couch with our friends and gaming in mind when I designed it. It has all the stock functionality of the stock xbox 360 slim. It will work exactly the same way. all the ports are on the back the same as a stock slim even the Kinect port. So you can plug it into your 52" led tv or take it to a Lan party. I was looking to add functionality not take it away.
AS far as Battery it has doesn't have one. but let me explain why, it isn't that i can't build one that will run on a battery it is that the best life you can get from a battery small enough to make it worth doing is about 45 min, and that isn't worth doing. Also doing a battery that has to put out that kind of amperage is a fire hazard. The Xbox draws to much power.
No ps3 model is coming because Sony will sue you even if they can't win because modders like myself can't afford to fight back so we just stop.

Hi guys I just wanted to let you know it sold for $2125 I am doing an 18.4" one now for a customer on commission. I will be doing a 15” that is even thinner than this one soon. Thanks for the nice things you have to say. I like to hear what gamers think of my builds.
