Xbox 360 VS PS3

Time to stir the old FBF outta some of the forumites...starting with this:

In some ways it’s a pity this story has popped up while most people are taking a long weekend as it would have been enjoyable to be ignorantly abused just before my weekend. But then again maybe not.

Destructoid are at TGS right now and one of their guys has managed to have a go at both the Forza 3 and GT5 demo’s on display and has put together a comparison article about the two.

Some of the most notable comments about a single title are


“Plants and trees on the side of the road look like paper cutouts, and the tree trunks are laughably bad”

“Driving slow in [Redacted] is like inviting disappointment. I guess they were hoping you’d always be moving fast enough to not notice the perfectly flat tree and pole textures”

“[Redacted] doesn’t do that. In fact, side of the road items like cones and tires don’t even seem to be affected properly by impact.”

“I don’t need true-to-life physics on these types of collisions, but this looked closer to the movement of a UFO than a stack of rubber tires”

And that single title that took all the flak was Gran Turismo 5. Apparently while it is good it just isn’t as good as Forza 3 at the moment which is going to be a shock to all GT fans.

Now the first thing that someone is going to yell is that GT 5’s only 65% complete and therefore this is to be expected.

True, but GT5 has been in development since before Forza 2 which makes it laughable that this comparison is heading Forza 3’s way…

If GT5 loses a head to head comparison on it’s release next year March I think Sony could be forgiven for wanting Polyphony Digital’s head on a platter.

I have to agree, after playing prologue, yes the cars look amazing especially in replays but the trackdetail does suffer alot on all tracks even the london track which looks amazing in some areas, but when you compare it to the london tracks in pgr 3/4 it doesnt have everthing as well detailed as in those games, but honestly the cars in prologue does look a tiny but better (on the outside) than in forza 3 but overall cars, tracks physics, forza takes the win
 
Well both give you aids. Since there both, y'know, consoles! But despite that...

The PS3 tries too hard to be a PC, while the X-box is made purely for gaming.

Would you be able to watch movies and video clips, not forgetting listening to your music collection if the HexBox were purely a gaming machine?

all cd based consoles since the sega cd allowed you to listen to music so youre not making any sense ? the reason why people say sony is confused with what they built is they call themselves scee aka Sony computer entertainment instead of sony console entertainment etc ! they mocked the xbox 1 when it came out with a HDD saying consoles that are dependant on Harddrives will never survive yet ironically now all pcs must have a hard drive to function properly ! thirdly sony concentrated on schitt like linux support and folding at home and their second life schitt whatever its called instead of focusing on core elements like launching a console with vibration built into the controllers at launch etc.

My comment was in reply to Raven Gold's assertion that the X-Box 360 is made purely for gaming, which it clearly is not.

How can you say that PS3 tries too hard to be a PC dude how can you compare the 2 when they are way too different to even be remotely alike :rolleyes:
